After the upgrade to IOS6 , my corportarte email failed over the iPhone to get emails usong IMAP.

I played around a bit and got it working. For anyone else that is having this issue, here is how I solved it (for Exchange at least. I didn't have trouble with Gmail)

Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Exchange -> Exchange (under Accounts) -> Account (under Exchange) -> clicked at end of username field -> Done (on account screen) -> Done (on Exchange screen)

So basically I changed nothing but I think this somehow re-associated the account with the iPad by hitting done. Would love some more insight into why this worked, but it worked.

Hiya,

I went through all the "troubleshooting" in spite of knowing it was my iCloud account & not the iPod touch.

Finally got it going when I went to Settings>Mail, deleted my icloud account & then instead of just re-adding the iCloud account I added it manually under "Other" (instead of "iCloud"). I used the mail server settings from this page http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4864.

I can't understand why it doesn't work setting it up under the iCloud setting. That should "just work". But I've been without email for 2 days until I finally did this.

It was when I finally got around to setting up iCloud that my email failed. Not impressed.

I've had no trouble with my 'yahoo' mail on my iPhone 4 until a couple of weeks ago. Messages like cannot connect to server, wrong password etc. Searched through a number of forums and tried a number of suggestions like deleting the account and re entering it. All no good for me. THEN, I went to my account via the browser on my phone and changed my password. Then put the new password into my phone (and lap top too). Hey Presto! All good.

To reset password go to 'Settings' - scroll down to 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars', open, then 'open' the account that is giving you problems (if you have more than one) at the top of the screen it says 'account' tap to open it and delete the old password and put in the new one. That should fix it !! I imagine it would be the same kind of solution to gMail and any other mail programs.

FIX FOR SETUP: Exchange 2010 + iPhone 5 with IOS 9

iPhone would not sync after removing and adding exchange account, using microsoft outlook connectivity analyser i could see activesync had failed for this particular user.

Go to Domain Controller, Active Directory

To check whether inheritance is disabled on the user:

  1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
  2. On the menu at the top of the console, click View > Advanced Features.
  3. Locate and right-click the mailbox account in the console, and then click Properties.
  4. Click the Security tab.
  5. Click Advanced.
  6. Make sure that the check box for "Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent" is selected.

Also failed for me the first time. I tried various other things in various posts and still my gmail didn't work, though another account did. I deleted my gmail account for a second time, re-added it, and this time it worked. Only thing different this time was that I'm on a faster wireless network, no idea if that's why it worked.
