Just adding another vote that IOS 6 is slower than Ios 5. Where I notice the performance degridation is in Safari. Javascript is slower, in a javascript ap that would respond as fast as could click button on Ios 5 and on Ios 6 have to wait for action to complete before accipts another touch. It appears that the problem is Ios 6 and or Safari mapping the touch to click event. The parts of the ap that handle toches directly, respond the same.

I do have to admit the iso 6 ***** ! I'm using it now I can barley type. It also doesn't work on my friends , I can't get a new one I have no money ! So I have the iPod 4 I was gonna get the iPhone 4 because the new one is way expensive . But if the new update dose the same thing nvm . I might switch to android , there a lot cheaper. I'm really disappointed with apple . I like the products but if there doing this because so u can buy the new iPhone 5 ,. Thts way stupid I'm not getting any more . I might if goes down but if there doing it for tht reason I'm going to switch products ,. Meaning all go to andriod . Not really my cup of tea but I need to save my work and data with a faster upload process . And the apps exits out more I did restart and troubleshoot includig exits apps .nothing works my iPod is in perfect shape not old either

I haven't upgraded after a visit to my local Apple store. On playing with the iPhone 5, I found Safari to be very slow so I logged on to their wifi on my 4s running 5.1.1 and loaded the same uncashed webpage on both. iPhone 5 18 seconds and my 4s 8.5!

Hmm, I then tried the same with 2 other 5s, exactly the same. Next I tried a demo 4s running 5.1.1 and it was he same as mine.

Lastly, today I tried a friend's 4s running ios6 and it was way slower than the iPhone 5s in the Apple store.

Conclusion? Keep away from ios 6 for now.

Because Apple does not supply a way to revert to IOS 5, had to change the ap to use 'touchstart' instead of 'moucedown' to trigger the button actions. This change restored the performance of the ap.

To experience the effects on the ap, an Javascript implementaion of Freecell, enter: http://freecellgui.com/jsfreecell/jsplay.php on a IOS 6 device and play some cards. Then rapidly tap the “UnDo” button. This shows responsiveness similar to IOS 5. Then enter http://freecellgui.com/jsfreecell/jsplay.php?mousedown=1 and rapidly tap the “ReDo” button to observe the unresponsiveness of IOS 6 mousedown emulation.
