Did you set it up as new after the upgrade? Because both my ipad 2 and my moms brand new ipad 3 is running laggy on ios 6. When i do a reset it fixes it for about a week then back to lag in apps and even typing on the keyboard. Funny thing is my trusty old iphone 4 isnt having any issues with lag after doing one reset (higher rate of battery drain though) just the iPads.

I totally agree Dr. Mendez. Upon downloading ios6 I immediately noticed (after getting the ipad3 to finally connect to my router) was Safari was noticeably slower than before. I have noticed ever since ios6 that the App Store lags real bad, the pad is way slower at menial tasks now.

I have the 64GB cellular version and only 9GB are used.

There is no reason why the pad should be slow. If I wanted performance like this I would have bought a Galaxy Tab.

Apple has to know they seriously screwed up with ios6.

They need to fix it quick. I'm not spending anymore of my hard earned money on any other Apple products until they make right.

I'm having a lot of issues with speed on my iPad3. Every app feels like it's heavy and dragging its feet to load. Also, while using an app - and specifically when playing games - the game freezes for a second every few minutes, then starts again. I have never had this issue before with freezing games. In fact, I've always been astounded at the quality of graphics and game playing experience on the iPad3. Now it's just frustrating.

Also I cannot connect to some wifis, like so many others. I like to stream music when studying/working, and now I can't. It's frustrating. This is the case for both my iphone 4 and ipad3.

I have the same number of location services turned on now as I did before (safari, yellow pages, weather, maps).

I miss iOS5. I wish I hadn't upgraded yet. I wish I waited until an update to the update came out. I honestly don't see any benefit of the new iOS on old devices (the iphone 5 with the LTE is admittedly incredibly fast). Except the phone app looks prettier. And the mail app is a little nicer with "VIP" contacts, but it's not worth the wifi, new maps, loss of youtube, loss of gmaps, and the loss of speed, as well as a number of other minor deficiencies.

Hi from Australia,

I am sooo disappointed with iOS6 on iPad3! I have an iPhone5 on order but now wish I didn't because it will probably have the same problems! My iPad3 is now so slow with iOS6 loaded it is unbelievable! I originally thought it must have been the mobile signal but iOS5 operated on 4 bars and all the Apps opened quickly. Now it takes ages for Apps to load, Safari is slow sometimes to the point that the sundial is still revolving after about 10 minutes and mail takes much longer to load. I have been an Apple user for nearly 20 years and this is the first time I have ever seriously thought of changing platforms. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH YOU APPLE!

Why is the new iOS 6 so slow?
