I wonder why such a great brand did such a horrible mistake... To update an app that is only 3.2 MB, takes almost an hour for me... And when i open app store, it feels like forever... (I use Ipad 2 3g). The funny thing is, when i used my sam**** gal*** tab 2, I can download any app triple faster than my ipad 2 (with same connection)... I begin to think that apple is going to drown... Just wait and see, if apple don't do anything about this, no one will want to buy any apple product... The only thing that lead from apple product is the smooth graphic transition (hope the other brand will improve their hardware). It's too bad for apple to loose one brilliant such as Steve Jobs. So apple, please don't throw anything new to the market, before you can satisfy the owner of your older products... It's really a very very bad advertisement. If we (product owner) satisfied, then we will gladly buy anything you throw to the market. But if we dissappointed, then....... (just figure it yourself...)

PS: I really love my old ios 5

Just wanted to check if there is a solution on the horizon?

My iphone 4 - maps and mapquest are useless now - can't find current location, therefore no navigation.

Missed call - after opening the recent call list, takes almost 1/2 minute for the missed calls notification to go away.

I am planning to get a new phone next year. If there is no solution by then, will switch to Samsung.

Yes, definitely agreed on the slow rate of iOS 6.0. It angers me how laggy it was whenever I play games that tests your speed, eg Gems with Friends by Zynga. It will tend to lag so much, that the whole app will auto shutdown. Furthermore, at times I can't even play that game properly! Apple, pls pls pls..have an update soon..REAL SOOON, and **** you'd better make sure that update is not as useless and crappy as this. AN UPDATE SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER THAN THE PREVIOUS!?!

I wonder if the slowness has anything to do with scaling from a higher res? After foolishly updating to 6, I saw that within days maybe 80% of my apps had updates available to "support new retina blah blah blah etc." I could not agree more about the sluggishness. Playing Jetpack Joyride or Metalstorm is painful now, whereas it was smooth and responsive prior to the update. I wonder if anyone has experience with performance prior to the update?

Still, even using just the phone, sometimes I press the physical button, and it takes so long to respond I press it twice, then the behavior is not what I expect. Like some other people here, I don't care about maps or Youtube, but I do care that I can't go a full day anymore without charging, whereas prior to the update I flew from the US to the Middle East, watched movies, played a game or two, listed to music, and still had plenty left to make some calls and use maps when I was on the ground.

Then Apple also dropped sync services, so I can't get local calendars reliably to and from my phone and Mac - I have to use iCloud. The advantage iPhone had is pretty much, neigh all, all gone. My next phone will likely be an Android device.

The late Steve jobs was all about the user experience, this version of the OS would've never made it out of the door if he was alive and well. On the other hand, Mr. Cook is all about the money, therefore, it is all about upgrading your less than a year old device and paying apple more money. Obviously, this strategy is not working out very well for apple given the fact that apple stock dropped from $700 a share down to $540 with analysts predicting the stock value to drop another $100 down to $450 or so.

Steve loved his products, used them heavenly before they were released to the public and truly, he would've tracked some skulls over iOS 6 and sent it back to the lab to be fixed before people like you all stard wondering: why should I buy apple products anymore?!

I agree Techgaze. Apple are loosing the plot.

It was a royal two fingers up at iPad3 owners when they announced the "iPad 4". I'm getting sick of the "magical and revolutionary bull sh**".

My iPad 3 is no better. I'm going to take it down to a store and see what they say.

this seems to have effected all devices with iOS6 not just the iPad.... however the iPhone5 and iPad4 seem to be uneffected. Something tells me they have slowed things down to sell the next best thing no ? ? ?

The plan now seems to be upgrade upgrade upgrade.

Let me tell you all something, yah see, I used to be an apple fan, until 2011, but I didn't really hate apple, it's just that android became big. So I've been neutral with apple until this last September, I hate ios 6 so much, you have NO idea. I'm actually typing this right now and it's taking me like ten minutes because of how laggy my iPod is. And I'm only using my iPod because my computer is getting fixed. So I just wanted to say that iOS 6 screwed up and can't be undone. There is no way to fix the lag, give up

Why is the new iOS 6 so slow?
