Really poor battery life with ios6 on iphone 4. Turned off pretty much all location services, bluetooth and also wifi as not in a wifi area.I can almost watch it falling (1% every 4 to 5 minutes). Unless I can get back to ios5 the phone is useless. I could upgrade phone but not sure I trust ios6 on anything. Samsung S3 looking very appealing

Could patent the idea of heavy battery drain though . . . .

Same here for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. It's painfully obvious Apple either didn't test battery life on older devices for iOS6, or they simply don't care, hoping everyone will upgrade. If the former, I would say Apple needs to just stop promoting later iOS's for older devices, or start offering patches for older devices. Plus, Apple stores are over-crowded most times, so expect to take PTO from work if you want their help. If the latter, and Apple doesn't care about older devices, I'll go on to say that an iPhone, financially-speaking, unless you're in business or your work is paying for it is one of the absolute worst investments a person can make. An old rotary phone from the 60's retains value better than an iPhone.

Back to battery-life. Apple denies, everyone cries. Some companies become "too big to fail". Apple is becoming "too big to succeed". It's showing up in their C-Level Execs and their stock value.

Having followed the tips on this forum, I have managed to get something like decent battery life back on my iphone 4 with iOS6 but ipad 2 remains on iOS5. Just need Apple to fixsome oftheir sub standard apps now (Podcasts, Messeges which gets stuck)

Really think Apple is going down the RIM path i.e down the tubes although it must be difficult to focus on software with such a profitable leagal department
