10.8.2 ML and 2.1 OS X Server.app Update

Yeah! finally and hopefully they'll fix the SMB issues in 10.8.2 ML update...

Also just released today OS X Server.app 2.1

What's New in Version 2.1

The 2.1 update is recommended for all servers running OS X Server on Mountain Lion. This update includes general fixes that enhance stability, compatibility and security of your server. It includes specific fixes for:

• managing DHCP service from within the Server application

(NOW THIS IS GREAT that they put DHCP Server GUI back)
• iOS 6 device management support in Profile Manager
• using the Server application to create a large number of users or groups
• authenticating with Calendar Server when using an Active Directory account
• renewing certificates for use with the Apple Push Notification Service
• configuring DNS entries with second level domains and aliases
• migrating from Lion Server and Snow Leopard Server

DNS seems to be the issue. I have a static IP and configure it manually, but the DNS information was totally wiped by the 10.8.2 upgrade, which then locked up the Server upgrade.

It's an issue that ought to be fixed.

yes DNS !, and check your router...( i have an airport extrem and the setting was also wipe for the DNS !)

Also it is unclear about the ipv6 setting. i notice , when i change these settings (ipv6) in the router that i always have a message about dns.

I'm having problems with the "Service Data" settings. Before the update, I had it pointing at an HD other than my system drive. Now, instead of the name of that HD, it merely says "Custom." When I try to reselect my HD ("Server HD," if you're wondering), I get an error that says something to the effect of

/Library/Server already exists. Please remove the directory and reselect this disk.

Any idea, short of another fresh install, of what I should do?

Same for me. I do nothing and it work normally for me. I have 120 Go of data and nothing to change here

I'm going through the process of a fresh install. C2ric, if you're having the same problem, I would suggest you move the individual files you'd like to save to a safe place, do a fresh install, and then try replacing the files individually (instead of at the folder level).
