I apologize for the wrong info a while ago about my iPod touch 4th G. App Store stopped crashing, I just wanna let everybody know that I just tried tried to download the IM + app and couldn't do it cause as its loading after the search it's crashing. What a bunch of imbeciles working for Apple, are they losing money when I can't download an app? ***???

I think that after Job's died, things became a lot more "loose" at Apple. The software engineers, programmers, whomever aren't doing a complete and thorough job and are cutting corners without the usual quality that we've all grown to expect.

For me after my three (yes three) year mobile phone contract is up, I will be done with the iPhone. In three years things will be very different within the Apple empire. How different? That's hard to say. However, unless Apple changes their business model drastically and quickly, the iPhone will be at the bottom of people's wish list in years to come. Having said that, the iPod is a different beast in my opinion. Perhaps Apple will shift gears away from the iPhone and back to multimedia devices.

App Store incessantly crashes on iOS6 on the iPod Touch 4G. It usually occurs when there are too many results to searchs (like greater than 20...) I did a complete restore to factory settings and the problem didn't go away.

Anyone have any work arounds?

Please fix this apple! The app store is your gateway to revenue, so there is no understandable excuse why this isn't working.

It's not like the crashing is a hidden bug that's hard to detect, it happens all the time with a large number search result. And with the Apple App Store of course it's always gonna produce a large results. Lol.

I went to the Apple Store 3weeks ago and tested their iPod touch 4G and the same exact crashing occurred when you search with lots of results. The worker sorta wanted to tell me off but all he was saying was, " I'm not a technician, why don't you make an appointment and tell them".

I still don't get all of the complaining. iOS 5 is what you would call horrible .0 software. It got better, but was never great. Just wait. Aple is going to release an update to fix all of this. They always do. Honestly, Internet Explorer 9 on my pc locks up and crashes like crazy and it's been out for over a year. Talk about buggy software. It's the epitome of buggy software. Microsoft should've fixed it's issues last year. I doubt that you need to search for apps that much. I rarely search for apps. I usually go through the charts when I want a new app and that section works fine. I think the App Store bug is annoying, but I can live with it and would much rather have iOS 6 than iOS 5. Every major iOS update is going to have issues. I don't know of a single company that releases perfect updates.

Now, I do think Apple could've done a better job with this update, as the App Store crash is an obvious issue, but I don't hate them over this or anything extreme like that.

I had never owned an Apple product until April 2011 when I decided to see what all the hype was about. I bought an iPod 4th gen and very soon got hooked. I was very impressed by the user interface, the ease of how it connected to WiFi, etc. I rapidly became an Apple fan up until this latest iOS upgrade. I am amazed at how quickly Apple has become no different than Microsoft in how they release a product with bugs and then fix the bugs with updates later. I no longer feel that Apple has an edge. I still enjoy using my iPod but when their App Store (the only way they make money off me!) crashes more often than not, that's a sign that they are no longer differentiated from other companies.

Just researched some and found out a solution, not sure if it was what i did (most likely) or just a coincidence (possible).

Two super easy steps..

1. Go to:

Settings --> Privacy --> Locations Services --> System Services --> [Turn OFF] Genius for Apps

2. Force Close App Store

Double Tap Home Button --> Hold Down App Store Icon --> X Out Of The App

Restart the App and it Worked!!! Let me know if this worked for you, or solved your problems?
