I have an iPhone 4S and since i upgraded to ios 6, the new appstore just doesn't work. Let me explain

first of all, i have to go trought all the applications one by one if for example i use search. it there are 200 apps as a resoult of the search, i have to swipe 199 times to get to the last one.... BUT by the time i get to the 50th app, it appstore starts to slow down, the touch schreen start to be irresponsive and by the time i het to about the 80th app, it crashes... if i open it again, i have to start all over.

i think the old apple store was much better. it was easy to use, didn't crash and didn't slow down. 1 app fills a whole page, this is so stupid....

does apple care about user experience anymore??? how can people let them know that this is just not good??

You're right on. However, the new App Store and iTunes Store does actually feel better with the overall layout but they totally screwed it up with the search. Like you said you need to swipe through all the apps and worst of all it does slow down and get sluggish and definitely crashes on my iPod 4th Generation. I'm scared to push it on my 4s cause it'll **** me off if it crashes. They actually only need to change the search layout section, the rest looks and feels better. Also read somewhere that that whole search layout is a stinker for devolopers cause theirs apps don't show up like before.

Hi, this is a serious problem and despite what people say, Apple DOES look at the support communities. I have been in contact with Apple all the time and this is my story. First of all the App Store crashes whenever I do a search or when I try to view the genius feature. I called Apple and they gave me some troubleshooting steps like hard resetting, restoring the ipod, resetting network settings, and then they forwarded me to tier 2 support. Tier 2 support said well its a known issue just put in Google ios 6 App Store crashes and you will see posts from the Apple Support Communities and the agent even read a post to me. This proves that Apple does in fact read these forums so if you are having issues; let your voice be heard! My story does not end here. I was also experiencing slow apps besides the App store crashes so I called Apple yet again. Apple finally decided to replace the iPod Touch 4th generation free of charge even though I was out of warranty and they were able to do this because the person I was talking to was a specialist. I sent my iPod in last week and just got my new one today; it took longer because I have personallization on it. I received my iPod today and to my surprise; It does the exact same thing with the app store! This is not device specific and is either account or software related. This issue is really making me angry but Apple has been trying to help me and I appreciate it although my issue is still not resolved. When they sent the new iPod here; the AppleCare letter said they did diagnostics and testing on the old one and it required replacement. You can also bring the issue directly to Apple's attention by going to http://www.apple.com/feedback and you can write your report there. It would help best if people are doing like me and actively talking to Apple about the issue on these forums, on the Apple feedback site, and even calling Apple and complaining about it. We are going have to work as a community to bring this to Apple's attention as this is a serious bug and since Apple doesn't do stress tests on their betas; we are now being the beta testers for it. PLEASE fix this issue Apple; it is very urgent!

I was at the apple store about two weeks ago just to test the iPod 4th Gs there and the same exact crash occurred with the search feature in the App Store. That proved that it is there fault and not my device. They seriously need to change that search layout, its like the other post, you need to swipe through a whole bunch of apps till you find what you need. Also what I noticed on my 4s today is that if you do a search in the App Store, it'll give you for example a thousand results but you can't swipe past the twenty fourth one. Maybe that's deliberate or maybe another issue.

Also they need to fix that closing apps in the background thing that's been happening since iOS 6 on the iPod 4th G. If you have an app running like Yahoo Messenger in the background and if you're signed into your account, it'll somehow close the app and sign you off till you relaunch it. This happens only if you start browsing with safari or use other apps where it uses system resources. Didn't do this prior to iOS 6.

Though the App store had gotten slighty better since the IOS 6 release,it still crashes most of time. No playing with your Ipod settings, turning in it on and off a100 times,or pushing the year ahead will do anything. The new design is meant only for the Iphone 5 only, not the other devices. And if it works for the Iphone 5, then thats good enough for Apple.

Now there will be an update coming because every IOS always has an update, and maybe it will be resolved.Until the Iphone 5 users scream about the app store not working (likes Maps),then nothing will be done.

But in the meantime if you can get the App store to work for a minute and download, Ipod users can still search by using some third party apps as APPSHOPPER ,APPSTAR, and the I say the best app search engine APPSFIRE. Appsfire is what the App store should have been. When you use one of the apps for searching,it will still open the Appstore to download, but it won't crash.

And I wish the general media would refect on the other bugs of IOS 6,instead of beating a dead horse about Maps 24/7. WE GOT IT MAPS ARE NOT THAT GOOD,now talk about something else....

I agree that they consider the newer devices first and design their stores and update around that. However in fairness to them, my iPod touch 4th Generation's App Store stopped crashing. I realized before when you for example put dictionary in the search you'd get a few thousands results and if you swipe past the 5th or 10th one it would 100% of the time crash. Now when you type dictionary in the search it again gives you a few thousand results but after the twenty fourth or twenty fifth app it doesn't let you continue. I guess they're doing something from there side that's not using all the memory to load a thousand apps. Besides anyway, that search layout on the iPhones and iPods are not that good. The rest of the store is fine.
