To let you know, I did this myself and still, time to time (NoT all the time) it would still crash. I have mine back to enable and still, time to time, it would crash once again in a while, while I'm in search.
Depends what your looking at I guess bc it works with me for a while.
And the thing about opening apps causing other apps to crash n u won't receive a friend msg from FB or watevr, that does not happen to me and neither does my brothers iPod.
If I really like to use it with no crashes, I would've gone back to iOS 6 BETA 4 but idc.
My apps even used to crash a lot but few weeks later, my apps barely crashed anymore, half of them updated to IOS 6 but not all of them yet and the ones not updated still works n don't crash n some don't crash as much as they use to.
Came across by adjusting your iPod touch or iPhone by up 1yr later but for how long, they didnt say, n a few users says it worked, I tried it and it didnt work for me, still crashed.
The background app closing or crashing is worse then the actual App Store crash issue. You can get around the App Store crash with third party apps like appshopper or something. What's happening is that my Yahoo Messenger app and also my IM + app close in the background. That means while I'm signed in to my account and I leave the app and check Facebook, the Yahoo Messenger app closes while I'm doing Facebook or at a website with Safari. Unlike the previous version of iOS, I would receive a notification that I have received a message from a friend. Now since the new iOS, the app closes and disables the notifications from coming. Basically means in order to know if a message has arrived, you need to open the app again and check each time.
i think because they brought out the new iphone, they designed the app store to work around the a6 (iphone 5) and a5 (ipod 5 and iphone 4s) chips, but havent got round to fixing it on the a4 (ipod and iphone 4) chip
if they dont fix it im buying a psp
And I will buy a samsung galaxy s3.😠😁
hi codylleen! i deactivated FB integration and it worked! thanks a lot! 😀
You are welcome...
I had the same problem on my ipod touch 4th gen, all i dont was go to
Settings > General > Date&Time > turn off "set automatically" > set time to 1 year later > Open Passbook> Click app store butten > it should say "could not connect to itunes store" > return home and open settings > turn set automatically back on!! 🙂
Ever since the Apple Event this week, the App Store works fine on my Ipod Touch 4,with no crashes at all.I have been using the search and it works everytime. I type in something like Apps to test, and you get 50,000 results but it still didn't crash. The only thing I turned off was genius a week ago,but that made no difference. But after Tuesday, the App store works with no problems.Apple must have done something.
I actually did notice that too. Now if my poor iPod touch 4G apps stop closing/crashing in the background it'll be a better device then when I bought it.
Thanks so much, worked for me also perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yipieeeee
problem fixed in 6.0.1!!!
6.0.1 did not fix the crash! 😟
I still cannot see my purchased apps! (iPad 2)
Fixed yes, doesn't crash or anything. Wonderful, however the apps in the background still close when you don't want them to. It's especially problematic when it's an instant messenger app running in the background and you're signed into your account. You don't need it to close when you're signed in. Didnt happen this way till iOS 6.
