How can you get Google Maps back. This new Apple Maps feature is HORRIBLE
Google Maps for IOS is fantastic. Just downloaded and used it - works beautifully and "it just works!" .
It finds everything, correcly and is fast, vector based, has turn by turn - everything we lost is back and much better than before.
Love it!
Apple Maps - RIP
Why do Mac Users worldwide have to suffer this private battle Apple has with Google!???
I will bill Apple for all the time I have been wasting trying to oreintate myself in a foreign city with that incredible nonsens maps application they got to us, just to start battling with Google..
I'm mac fan since 1983, and this is just incredible you include us in your private app war, when now its worldwide kwon new Maps App is just ZERO. at least for the ones we don´t live in USA.
I want my 5.1 iOS back with YouTube integration and Google Maps restored.
Will no fight on your infantile war against Google / Adobe and everybody else !!
Gkin, it is not ABSOLUTELLY compared with previous version..
Have you tryed to use the orientation with the compass / velocimeter? it is bad.. not in comparision with the Maps it came native with iOS 5.
Google Maps iOS 5 was faster, more accurate in orientations, and had more places (at least outside USA) than the new one

that's funny.
Well the Ipad still does not have Google Maps. Why not??
How would anyone here know? Ask Google.
You really believe that Apple doesn't know why Google Maps are not on IPad's. Give your head a shake.
Of course I believe Apple knows. Apple's not here and we're not Apple, we're just users like you. Maybe you want to give your head a shake.
Instead of asking in a new thread I figured I'll ask here.
I review and read a lot of reviews on places using Google Maps when I was an Android user. I just switched to the iPhone 5 late 2012 and so far I've had mixed feelings. The Galaxy Nexus wasn't a bad phone, but the polish is definitely better on the iPhone 5, at least in my book it is.
Anyway, I started using Apple maps to read reviews on places and stuff. It switched me to yelp where I had to create an account (*sigh* how lame) etc. I thought I was writing reviews, but I was just writing "tips". I still have no idea what tips are. Turns out I have to either find the place I'm looking for using Yelp or click on someone elses review then add a review after switching to the Yelp app.
Is there an easier way to handle this?
Secondly,
I decided to use google maps also to read reviews like I did on Android. I don't see any way to actually write a review. Do you guys know how to do this using google maps?
Thanks
Hump de bump
It worked fine for me until I did the latest update! Now it wont work at all.
Google maps does not load in Chrome on a Mac. This just became a problem about a week ago and it is possible that Chrome was updated during that time to version 30 something. After testing the map with Safari and Firefox on a Mac, with IE, Firefox and Chrome on Windows 7 via Parallels, with Chrome on an iPad, and on an Android phone where it worked I decided to load an older version of Chrome on the Mac. Version 25.0.1364.5 dev works fine on the Mac so the problem appears to be with the upgrade to version 30.
Larry, this is the iPhone forum. You probably want to post in the appropriate forum for your computer or ask you question on Google's support fourm.
Best of luck.
