Why cant I send pics since the ios 6 upgrade? Any clues on a fix?

Since the upgrade No one in the house has been able to send photos.

I have researched and found that you could attempt to "reset" the network settings - THIS DID NOT WORK for us! (but feel free to try it)

Also we tried the basic, shut down the phone for 2 minutes method - THIS DID NOT WORK for us! (but feel free to try it)

I am so at my wits end I could SCREAM!

Apple is supposed to be the WORLDS BEST! Then they bring out THIS kind of TRASH?!? Really? Siriously? (yes - that was a total BLAST at Apple)

I enjoy using my camera but LOVE being able to send the pictuers to ppl in the family when I take them... as does everyone else in the household.

I'd appreciate if anyone had any clues on a avenue I have NOT attempted please let me know.

Thanks every so much!

Droids have similar problems. I have a friend whose MMS wasn't working on her droid. I played with it a while, googled till blue in the face, and finally told her to call AT&T. She never called, but one day it just started working. Don't be so quick to jump ship. You may find yourself in a place with more variables and less support.

I was unable to email pics through the photos app, I would hit send and it would disappear. It wasn't in my outbox or sent items or anything and the person never received the emai. I could only send them if I opened a new email and inserted a pic into the email.

However, This solution worked for me. After I reset my network setting it works like a charm. I have been battling this for weeks, TY so much!!! 🙂

I fixed my problem with sending photos by doing a reset of my network settings through General/reset/reset network setting. This was mentioned in a different forum as the solution that worked for some people. I just changed my ISP and for some reason this stopped working shortly after I switched. I am fine for now but may need to do this again. Note I do not have a data plan so this was an issue with my wifi at home.

Go to your carries store, tell them what's going on I went to AT&T

And I told them and they went in to the account holder my (mom)

And asked for I.d and they took my iPhone and went to about

General and went to IMEI and ICCID and then changed it in the

Account!! It took less then 5 mins!! They said the problem was

When people updated to iOS 6 some things changed in the system..

Hope this helped

Hi,

I have had this problem for some time even if I was trying to send photos over WiFi. Possibly, ios6 did it.

Found a workaround / solution. Instead of emailing Photos directly from the Photo Application, go to the Email App, compose your email there - and then use the Insert Photo / Video feature. When you send, besides the swoosh, the sending bar appears at the bottom and it actually works.

To use the Insert Photo / Video feature, tap anywhere on the email body (on the pop-up list of commands ..Copy, Paste etc...And scroll right to locate the Insert Photo / Video command)

Dont bother with MMS / SMS settings - this bug applies to WiFi also.

Cheers

1. Yes you are absolutely right: same problem if you try to email a photo (not confined to SMS or iMessage).

2. Your fix did not work for me. As follows...

- I first tried emailing 3 pictures to my email account. WiFi at work is very high bandwidth (same at home).

- No luck: sits and spins 20 minutes "Sending 1 of 3"

- Read forum and tried fixes such as reset network settings, turn off photo stream, etc. No luck.

- Eventually, 1st photo was received in my email account

- Checked my Outbox. One send had failed, and the other just sitting there

- Re-sent everything from my Outbox. Now Outbox is empty, but no mail received in the Inbox

- Got errors multiple times: "FAILED TO REACH EMAIL SERVER"

- Tried your method of emailing to myself, including a photo in the body. No error messages, but never received it

- Forwarded an existing email (with picture) to myself: same problem, never got it

My guess: the larger size of the attached photo (2 MB each in my case) as compared to an average email is causing some kind of time-out between the IOS phone and the mail server. After this timeout, it's completely hosed. But this does not acocunt for the similar problems people report when trying to send photos via SMS and IMessage

Why cant I send pics since the ios 6 upgrade? Any clues on a fix?
