Magic Mouse not "right clicking" after 10.7.5

After updating to OS 10.7.5, my Apple Magic Mouse stopped right clicking.

I logged in as root, dumped everyone's plists for the mouse, as well as zapped the pram, but still cannot right click.

Any ideas?

I am seeing this as well.

My USB Mighty Mouse worked fine on 10.7.4, but sure looks like 10.7.5 broke it. Tried all the usual: trashed the relevant preference files, zapped PRAM, reset SMC. No go.

I have a Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse - both of which work OK.

I also found that the Mighty Mouse works on Mountain Lion 10.8.2 (too bad the iMac that I'm working with can't be upgraded to Mountain Lion!).

I have submitted an official bug report on this issue to Apple.

I'm having this problem too. I just updated from Snow Leopard to Lion 10.7.5 on my 2006 iMac (that won't run Mountain Lion, so that fix won't work) and my USB Mighty Mouse's secondary click no longer works. I've tried everything that everyone else has suggested and finally resorting to plugging in an old Logitech mouse and using it (I can function better without 360 scrolling than I can without a right click). If anyone finds a solution, I would love to know!

I'm having the same problem, too, jessirae (and I also have a 2006 iMac, recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to 10.7.5 Lion).

I found a claimed workaround in another thread (involving USB Overdrive), but I would prefer that Apple provide a fix:

Another problem I've noticed (possibly related) is that after restarting, keyboard shortcuts don't work until I click on the Desktop. For example, if I type "Shift-Command-H" after restarting, all I get is an alert sound instead of my Home folder appearing. Argh!

I am a recent convert to the Apple world and I have to say I am utterly shocked that they would put out a major OS release that would completely break both their own legacy "Mighty Mouse" and their latest "Magic Mouse" and do nothing about it. How it slipped through their QA is hard to fathom and not even acknowledging it is even worse. The only entry devices to their computers are the keyboard and the mouse and they killed one of them. Does this mean if they killed the keyboard, they would ignore that as well?

I really hope Microsoft makes a comeback just to give Apple some competition because they are getting more and more apathetic about supporting their customers. This is completely inexcusable.

@Maddog: you are very right!

I would not exclude, that of the keyboard didn't work they would ignore it too. Apple employees seem to be ignorants anyway (Sorry guys.. in private you may be nice persons!).

Unfortunatedly, a switch to microsoft would include a large amount of changeover. Thats what keeps me stick on apple. But if they make me crazy a longer time, I WILL make the changeover.

In this sense, I am very curious in what direction LOGIC PRO will develop. Are they willing to support professionals in a professional way? Or is their interest more to support the largest number of amateur users as possible to sell as many copies of the software as possible? I fear, the latter is the case. If I get signs that this is their way, I will leave the boat and switch to PROTOOLS completely. Although their support is nothing better than Apple's. But the products are better trimmed for professional use.

And by the way: the USBOverdrive solution works here. But I have to keep it installed. When I unsinstall, there is the same behavior (not right click) as before. So I keep it. It is strange, that with using USBOverdrive I can't switch off my MAC any more pressing Ctrl-Alt-CMD-EjectCD. ???
