Magic Mouse not "right clicking" after 10.7.5

After updating to OS 10.7.5, my Apple Magic Mouse stopped right clicking.

I logged in as root, dumped everyone's plists for the mouse, as well as zapped the pram, but still cannot right click.

Any ideas?

I reinstalled Lion, but it didn't work. Noticed that Time Machine backups were taking a really long time. So I then deleted the Spotlight index; however, re-indexing was estimated at '6 months' to complete!

I wound up downloading Mountain Lion and performing a clean install (from a USB drive), it looks like that finally solved the problem for me.

So one mouse works & another doesn't? Same thing with me - my USB Mighty Mouse (which is what was connected when I installed 10.7.5) has no right-click, but if I connect my Bluetooth Magic Mouse, right-click works fine...

Weird that one mouse doesn't work but another does... especially since it's the Magic Mouse that's broken for the OP... perhaps the update breaks whatever mouse happened to be connected at the time the update was performed, but any mouse that's connected subsequently is OK?

Sorry to hear that you're having problems too.

Since going to Mountain Lion the right click issue has become nonexistent; however, a few times now my Magic Mouse has been non-responsive (frozen) when I wake the computer from sleep. The batteries are good but the mouse doesn't respond… that is until I plug in my Mighty Mouse, then both mice work!

I'm wondering if it's a Bluetooth bug that hasn't quite been fixed yet?

Hi to all on this thread,

same problem here - MAC Pro updated to 10.7.5 - no right mouse button with mighty mouse any more. I installed the supplemental update some days ago, this didn't change the misbehaviour.

I own three mighty mice - with none of them the right mouse button works. When I use the CONTROL-Key - as if I had no secondary mouse button - then the secondary mouse button menu shows up.

Yes, I checked all the features in the mouse-pane.

Very strange is the fact, that with a very cheap mouse by "Trust" the right button works fine! The mouse pane does not show a feature to change the behaviour of the secondary button for this mouse. Maybe this makes a difference?

APPLE please there is to come another supplemental update :-) Go to work! It is your own hardware, that doesn't work!
