My issue has been sorted by

    Reset

But when you reset you set up the phone

Using CELLULAR OPTION ( don't set up using

    Wifi!)

Then use set up as NEW PHONE and

    Not using back up etc!!

It works fine now but will it last

Please try and report back guys see

    If it works .

My wifi finally works! I restored my iPhone 5 and opt out using iCloud. I'm just using the back up to iTunes options and not the iCloud back up and my wifi finally works. Try it and see it will work for you guys also.

I reset my phone twice and used ITunes to set it up! But last time I used it (this morning Aus time) it still didn't work!

Same problem, WIFI issues!!! Connects to WIFI, then loses it. Then I connect and walk 10 feet away and back to no WIFI. This is really getting ridiculous. New iphone 5 and already WIFI and signal strength issues. My iphone 4 is fine and has been since day 1. Apple needs to address this issue or my phone 5 is going back!!

    Tylajess

Please reset and use cellular option to

Set up and don't use iTunes or any other

Back up but USE NEW PHONE as your option

    For set up !!

Try and see ! Hope it works!

As you are in AUSTRALIA make sure

Your phone is the right way up!!

    Lol!

    Please try my method !

Yes it's also been reset as a "new" phone, and when at the store setting up it was done on LTE as it wouldn't connect to their WiFi. Haha yes it was also the right way up!

I had great difficulty connecting to my WIFI with the new iPhone 5 and like many I tried every suggested solution with no success. My old iPhone4S had no problems with WIFI nor did my iPad 2 but even though the new iPhone 5 detected my WIFI it refused to connect. I ended up resetting my modem, creating new wireless passwords and finally the iPhone connected. Signal strength has been good, speeds are fine and it automatically reconnected when I got back home after going out for a short while.

Now it could well be an issue if I try to connect onto a friends or family members network, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it came up as "unable to connect" so while the modem reset worked for me at home I'm not sure if it will connect elsewhere and obviously I can't expect that others reset their modems to suit me.

Obviously this is a big issue and the fact that WIFI connection is not an insignificant issue I just wonder how it is that Apple didn't recognise this bug before they released the iPhone 5. I just wonder if Apple are more interested in getting the cash rolling in than they are with quality control. Its not just the WIFI mess, the Maps are a joke.

Apple needs to get its act together and lift their game. Find a fix to the problems and release an update and don't wait until hundreds complain. Better still don't release the product until its working properly.

In that case definitely take it back

To apple and ask them to test the wifi on

The next one they give you before going back home for a barby lol!

It's already back, sadly I don't have an apple store in my city so it can't be tested by professionals, but will definitely get the Telstra to look a it, before I take it home for a BBQ!

Also find out if iphone 5 works in any

Other part of Australia and then just move

To where it works ! Afterall iphone is part of our

Lives going by the launch video by Apple

So we have to do all we can lol!!

My iPhone 5 connects to wifi networks and remembers them, but receives absolutely zero data through the network. LTE and 3G no problem... Off to the repair shop (after 3 hours of ownership...) or any ideas??

Sorry for your trouble I have excellent performance on both my iPhone 5"s

Top left is showing cellular icon while wifi is turned on and connected. iPhone 5 unresponsive to others wifi (WPA settings), works at home okay with my WEP setting. Connecting to my cousin wifi(Tried changing to WEP, WPA, open, and WPA2) was unsuccessful even though password was entered in correctly. So it got to be firmware related not hardware? It won't matter if I get return and get a new one?

I wonder if anyone who has updated ios6

On other models is having problems?

I have other models but haven't updated to

Ios6 on them and no issues!!

I had issues with iphone 5 which has ios6 but after

Setting up with 3G option and as a NEW PHONE

it's behaving better , now and again switches

To 3G mode but wifi is better !

But if I see a total wifi loss for a long

While again I will ask for a refund

As you have 14 days from purchase to

Return etc but if they give a new one

It will still have same issues surely?

There was a firmware update for my modem which I installed while I was trying to get the IP5 connected but updating the modem firmware did nothing in terms of a solution, it was only when I did a reset of the modem to factory settings did I finally get the IP5 to connect to the WIFI
