    I feel your pain and I'm sorry for not giving credit where credit is due.


    iOS 6.1 Beta 4 was released today but I have yet to hear from anyone if it's done anything at all for this issue.

    Marshall: You might of been the person i could of had in my mind, though do you know anyone in these industries high up the food chain ?. My contacts dont venture in to those industries so i cant make a case there.


    Email / Calling these Media companies probably wouldnt suffice, they need to be directly approach and to someone high up who can run the story .


    As for the comment about Apple Not reading these posts, technically they dont have to as it clearly states these forums are for community discussions tips etc etc, they really arent obliged to do a great deal in here.

    Lol, that's what I am getting at!  Apple is only worried about their stock price!!  Every one bring this to the attention of your local media. Ask them if they know any one with these unresolved problems

    I agree and would stick with iOS 5.1.1 if I were you. With iOS 6.1 on the horozion there is really no reason to move to iOS 6.0.1 right now in my opinion. I have no issues with 6.0.1 but know a few folks who have updated their devices (4s and iPads) and are having issues with wifi just after the update. ALL happen to be with new Netgear routers BTW. One we were able to solve it at his company by changing  the router to WPA2/TKIP and then employees could connect again. Not sure of the other who just updated his iPad the other day and wifi puked as soon as it rebooted. He has been fine all through the various updates through 5.1.1. So IMO its is an Apple iOS issue. Except the iP5 always had iOS6 so cant really compare it but for the 4 and 4s's definitely iOS6 hosed it up for the ones with issues. It does seem to effect Netgear the most.

    I can be corrected if im wrong, but from memory im not aware of Iphone 4 having issues on IOS5, ive only been hearing Iphone 4S. In addition id like to point out i have Iphone 4S's, Iphone 4, iphone 5's through my work.


    It stands to ground, it sounds like a similiar issue to mine, the Iphone 4S and Iphone 5's pick up my SSID's, but fails to accept the password ive applied for the encryption, bare in mind this is what using WG102 Netgear with latest firmware, my only workaround was to downgrade firmware. i maed this choice is the older firmware poses no security differences. For anyone doing firmware, they should consult the documentation on the purpose of the firmware before changing it whether its a security enhancement or otherway.

    Because of the challenge . And the minor fact that Apple is silent as usual. I suspect we will see the "real" resolution when they recode the wifi section in iOS 6 (in the form of iOS6.1) back to whatever it was in iOS 5.1 when wifi worked for ALL devices and routers and hotspots and brands, and all will be right with the world again.


    Oh and also to pass the time and for us in IT here to see if we can make it work! Maybe help some folks get connected until this is actually fixed with some of those extremely high paid Apple engineers (who should have a handle on this "new" technology called WIFI by now )

    its a catch 22, if we didnt perform all our testing them we'd be blinding each other individually on trying to get these devices working for reason being is.. we wont be publishing our work arounds and be left in the dark to fix it all ourselves.


    Second point is, do you think the Apple Genious appointments will fix / assist with such work arounds ?, i doubt that.


    I walked in to My APPLE Store head office in Sydney CBD, Australia and spoke to the head engineer at the time when these WiFi issues were happening. I took an Iphone 4S with IOS6 upgraded and Iphone 5. The Enginner went to his back room for 5 minutes which i believe is where they have coffee and NOT perform diagnostic work , then came back and said "well it works here" so there is nothing wrong with the phone


    To save myself bursting in tears and the lack of knowledge that enginner must have, i just walked out.


    Comment for apple: I wouldnt be employing such a person to work for my company if they thought that way

    I've been running open with Mac filtering with ip5 for awhile now. Wifi is a bit better but still drops frequently. It's almost like the wifi goes to sleep after a minute of use In a app, or even using Safari.

    My buddy has a ip4s that was updated to 6.01 when it was released. 2days ago his wifi is now greyed out, a big issue the updated ip4s is having. I do find it interesting that he ran 6.01 for that long before his wifi greeted out for whatever reason.

    Everything I have read on the coming 6.1 update and it has no mention of a wifi fix. I'm hoping apple is keeping it silent and just throws it in. I'm also hoping apple does know of the wifi problem and just choose to be quite about it.

    I can tell you this I have 2 ip5 since sept 21 that are NOT "the best iPhone yet", and no "it just DOESN'T works". I'm giving apple till the next update 6.1. If wifi is not fixed I'm cutting my loss on all my apple products as apple will be the same company as the were in the mid 90s very soon.

    On a side note I went to a party and 4 people had ip5 6.01. All 4 people have wifi issues and 2 had battery leak. Wifi is a bigger issue then apple wants you to believe.

    There my rants done and I feel better now.  :)

    iOS 6.0.2 was just released today.  It says it "Fixes a bug that could impact Wi-Fi".  Let's hope it fixes these issues!


    Edit: heh, it seems that their update server is having trouble.  A lot of people are getting "Unable to Check for Update" when they go to Software Update -- including me.  Nice.

    Same here but I'm downloading via iTunes and it's working fine. It weighs in at a hefty 983.2MB though I'm sure if OTA were working - it would be smaller. Still, since the Wi-Fi on my MBP works fine, I'm downloading it there. Here's hoping...10min left.


    Update: OTA seems to be working. Shows it's a 51.4MB update. Still, with the way my Wi-FI has been working (and since I don't have LTE here) it's faster to download load the entire thing on my MBP than the smaller update on my phone.

    Just as a suggestion try backing up your phone to itunes, or iCloud and restoring the device. I have seen this work well with restoring normality to the Wi-Fi.
