iTunes player skips songs with iOS6 update

I updated my iPhone4 with the new iOS6. Now my iTunes player arbitrarily skips songs as if they are not there. But when I sync, it shows the space being used by MUSIC. I tried removing all the music and NOT syncing music. And then syncing the music back again. That didn't work. I tried rebooting the phone.

Do I have to do a full restore (go back to factory settings and then restore from my backup) to get this working again or is it an iOS6 glitch? Thanks.

How to fix this.

**** this was irritating:

Step 1: On your IPhone (or device) turn ItunesMatch Off

Settings>Music>ITunesMatch slide off.

Step 2: Start ITunes on your computer.

Step 3: Select Your device (iPhone) and click on the Music Tab.

Step 4: Uncheck all playlists and music.

Step 5: Sync Phone (this deletes all music from the device)

Do NOT panic. This is temporary.

Step 6: Go back to Music tab and re-select music and or playlists.

(It helps to go back and edit your playlists and repopulate (edit) since several of the

Songs which got skipped are no longer in your playlist)

Step 7: Resync. (This may take a while since all of the absent music files and anything that was in cloud storage

Will be reloaded to the phone) I have about 3gig of Music and it took about 30 minutes.

Step 8: Problem Solved. Enjoy!

I have recently noticed the same problem as well on my iPhone 5. I knew I couldn't have been because of my cell because I just bought it a couple of months back and have yet to damage it in any way. But one thing I have noticed today is that when I locked my phone while playing a song from my iTunes playlist and then pressed the home bottom to view the songs progression, the bar had paused and was not moving even though the song was clearly playing within my headphones. I moved the progression bar and I haven't had the problem again so far with the skipping of songs or retracing of song progression. Try this and it may work out for you as well.
