Just got my iphone 5 about 6 hours back. To my shock the paint at the side band is chipped and i can see the silver metal underneath it. Its very bad quality check apple. What should i do ? I don' t want to take it back to Apple to be told that I have to wait 2 weeks to get replacement?
The whole fun of owning a new iphone is spoiled.

Log it at a genius bar and they'll save the notes and give you a new one when replacements arrive. They usually stock replacements at launch day

where'd you get that phone? I haven't seen one in person, but your metal part looks like what is supposed to go with the white phone.The metal on the black one i supposed to be really dark.

Oh gosh, just take a look at the pic again and yeah. There is only white/silver or black. But not black and silver. Come on Apple whats going on here?!

I bought my phone a few hours ago. Still in plastics haven't messed with it. Looked briefly and saw a few scuff marks on the side. This is unacceptable for a new product. Any scuffs on the phone should come from me and me alone. So yeah, I will be calling apple or the genius bar or whatever and plan on haveing a new phone sent to me when available. I recommend you do the same as soon as possible.
Just trying not to be people nervous like you are, posting your phone has a scratch is going to help you how?
I do not see how I am "people nervous" as you say. Posting about it will bring awareness for one. Secondly it will let him know that he isn't alone. From what I have read throughout the internet today, it seems to be a legitimate issue and being on these forums could lead him to a better answer. All of us.
