cant connect to ad hoc network with ios 6

I realize there have been a lot of wifi problems with the new ios, but mine seems to be slightly different and I haven't found any info on this specific issue.

I have no problems actually getting onto the internet with my home wifi, but when I try to log onto my computer-to-computer network that I have set up on my mac mini, it says I'm connected in the wifi settings on the phone but there is no signal at the top and I'm not able to log onto my VNC controls for the mac mini which worked so beautifully in the last ios. I'm using an iphone 4 and the newest mac mini with 10.8.

I use the mac mini for performing music and need to communicate with it via iphone over the ad hoc network so I don't have to log into new wifi everywhere I go. Any thoughts?

problem solved download http://www.virtualwifirouter.com on your PC forget the ad hoc network this works without messing with static ip's one downloaded go to the connection ie active network in network and sharing center and enable the internet connection sharing and point it to the virtual wifi router that you just added. it should be in addition to the wireless adapter that your pc already has.

I faced similar issue while trying to adhoc-ly connect my iPad and iPhone with macbook pro retina display using Internet Sharing option and it didnt worked except showing me the full Bars, then I checked my iPad IP settings which it acquired automatically from my Macbook, there, I only made the DNS similar to my Macbook while keeping the auto DHCP settings (it lets you change the DNS even in Auto IP acquire mode) and everything works, same settings with iPhone, please try it and let me know.

Brilliant !! Thank you so much ! This sorted the problem for me. Mac OS 10.8.5. IOS 6.1.3.

I also used a WEP 128 bit network.

" I've just tried after many months, and now with OS 10.8.4 and last iOs 6 it seems work again! I've set subnet mask manually to 255.255.255.0, on DHCP it was 255.255.0.0 and it worked only traktor>iPad and not iPad>Traktor!

I'm not sure if I've always used 255.255.255.0 or 255.255.0.0, but check it now, it could work! "
