iPhone5 bluetooth not working

I never had serious problems with connecting my iPhone 5 to my Kia Optima before this morning, but now I'm suddenly unable to stream audio. Phone calls come through no problem... turn-by-turn directions no problem... but I can't stream audio (whether it be music, podcasts, Dropbox audio files, etc.). Very, very strange. Can't imagine Apple would implement programming changes in the iOS update that require all other BT capable devices to be upgraded. Backward comparability is vital.

Or perhaps they just messed up and we'll see another update soon. Wishful thinking?

why apple did not do something about the problem in bluetooth.customer bought apple due to because they know that apple has high quality phones but they can`t do something about the bluetooth.

Just upgraded the iPhone 5 to OS 6.1 and it now works again with bluetooth in my Honda CR-V. It will accept calls.

Apple fixed the iPhone 5 Bluetooth problem, at least for 2102 Honda CR-V.

I upgrade my 5 to iOS6.1, and it still does not connect with my bluetooth headsets NOR my Mac Powerbook. How can an apple iphone not connect with an apple laptop???

I have a 2013 Honda Crv and the updated seems to havd worked! Not sure about the texting feature, but I will have to check it all out 🙂

The only thing you can do connecting to your PowerBook is tether it. IOS has never supported Bluetooth File Transfer Protocol (FTP).

My 5 connects with my BT headset with no problem. I don't know which headset you are using or what steps you have taken.

I don't care which phone you select but I would advise you to do your research before you buy it next time.

My iphone 5 couldn't identify or establish any connection to any device so far, considering bluetooth is a very important tool for me, my new iphone 5 is useless, could not even connect to my car Ford New Fiesta. Please fix as soon as possible.

As suggested in a CR-V owners' forum, go to General-->Accessiblity and under Physical & Motor change incoming calls to headset instead of default. The people on that forum say that fixed their issue of not being able to accept incoming calls via bluetooth.

Try upgrading your iPhone to IOS 6.1. It worked for us with our Honda CR-V.

None of the "fixes" mentioned have worked for me and I've tried them all 😟

If anyone with a new Nissan hears anything please post it.

My Acura bluetooth will now accept calls from my iphone5 since I updated to IOS 6.1. Yea!

Just got an iPhone 5 yesterday from VZ. Upgraded it to OS 6.1. My LG HBS 700 headset is not discovered. The headset is discoverable using my old iPhone 4S. My apple BT keyboard functions with the iPhone 5. Can you upgrade the BT in a headset? Guess I better try the iPhone is my 2012 Subaru. Worried in VA...

Very strange, but after several failed attempts to stream music/podcasts to my 2012 Kia Optima last week, with reboots and resets having no effect, I relented and plugged my iPhone 5 into the USB port on my car... just so I could listen to my music while on the road. I figured that either my car stereo needed a firmware updated, or Apple would fix the issue with the next iOS update.

Then, to my surprise, I attempted to stream audio over the week-end (i.e. phone not connected by USB) and it worked! Nothing at all changed either on the phone or in my car; no firmware or iOS updates of any kind.

Why the pairing works perfectly again without any attempted fix is baffling. How the heck does that happen?

I also have the same problem. I used to have an Iphone 4 and had it paired with my van. No problem. Now i cant connect my iphone 5 with my vehicle. Its really stupid that i cant use my phone when I'm driving. I really hope they sort this out asap.
