This is super annoying - my iphone 5 won't pair with my car - two previous iphones did it no problems at all - is just says "Great Wall audio not supported). Doesn't offer any other suggestion. This on the back of finding out the iphone 5 camera takes off centre photos (what you see in the viewer is not what you get in the picture), and I can't dock it on any of my music devices, I can' keep battery life up all day without recharging - and I can't even pull out the sim card and go back to my old trusty iphone 4 because that's a different size too! I think iphone 5 is a good time to start looking at other smartphones and make the move. At least when something goes wrong someone gives a **** - not like arrogant apple who pretty much say "take it or leave it - you need us - we don't need you". You can't even contact anyone to get issues sorted - they just refuse to acknowledge that complaints or concerns by users even matter. Maybe HTC time or Nokia.
Recently my iphone 5 has stoped connecting to my car and headset. I have also noticed that the small bluetooth icon has stopped appearing when i come off the bluetooth settings, but when i go back into the bluetooth settings the bluetooth icon appears but still im unable to connect or be discovered. i cannot search for anything o and I have tried reseting my phone many times and still no change! a new update is needed to correct this!!!!!!!! Anyone else have the excact same problem as me??

You've had this explained to you in the thread you started a month ago.

Having exactly the same issue.
Bluetooth is 'on' but the bluetooth icon is only shown if I go into the settings !?
any solution to that yet?
I had this happen to me today - my iPhone 5 (version 6.1.3) suddenly, seemingly overnight and on its own, stopped pairing with my BMW or anything else. No amount of trials or rebooting or turning the phone off worked, including restoring the phone in iTunes. To top it off, when I tried the restore function, the iPhone would not backup to iTunes, throwing an error code to me. So, I decided to wipe the phone (complete and total reset) and restore from the last backup. Now it works perfectly.
iTunes 11.0.2
OSX 10.7.5
I am having the exact same issue. I tried to use my bluetooth today and found that all my prior saved pairs had been wiped. I don't understand how this would happen suddenly out of the blue. Whenever I try to re-pair with something, the device seems to think that the pairing was successful, but my iPhone tells me otherwise. The little bluetooth icon is also disappearing when I leave the bluetooth settings. Worst part is, now I can't even seem to be able to backup my phone for some odd reason.
I've had my iPhone 5 for about 5 months and within the past three weeks, my iPhone has been acting stupid in regards to the Bluetooth feature. I've basically be having the exact same or similar problems as everyone else that has posted here so far. I have a Plantronics Marque M155 (Black) bluetooth that I bought today and wanted to pair it with my iPhone. I tried all of the suggestions, cut the feature on, it discovered my bluetooth but it does not connect. It also won't discover my device if I turn the bluetooth device on after cutting the feature on, OR if I move to another app on my phone, regardless of which on it is. This is EXTREMELY in furiating and quite frankly I'm appauled at the lack of urgency by this "great company" known as Apple. Trust me, I love my iPhone 5, but I can bet you that I'm HIGHLY considering trading in this phone to get the GS3 or something.
My iphone 5 won't connect with my Jambox or my Groove Flexsmart 2 car adapter. Epic fail, Apple. I never would've purchased, had I known. I rely on bluetooth for most of my phone calls. Resolve immediately.
Mine connects with no problem to my Jambox and I use it both for making calls and music. Epic user fail.
Don't have a Groove.
Thanks for trolling, deggie. 😉
My IPhone5 still searching for bluetooth devices and never come back with any information ( error or succed) . Its looks like BT system is crash... - my all other devices see Iphone5. After I changed phone for Iphone - cant connect with Audi - what a nightmare with this bluetooth. Is here anyone who solved this issue?
thx
OK, after few hours of hard thinking and trials i find solution for those whose iphones dont give any "back" information after turnnig Bluetooth ON.
In my case Iphone5 dont recognized any device but other device like laptop see iphone. So I made a bluetooth connection via laptop (asus g51) to iphone and after it prompt on iphone I accepted it. Befeore, when I left the BT settings ( with turn ON BT) the icon of BT was inactive - now with conncetion with laptop icon is active. After that i go to my audi and its simply find my car BT connetion "AUDI UHV NR" and i manged to paired it 🙂
I hope some of u find solution in the same way.
Greetings all,
Apple MUST realize that having reliable "hands free" car phone operation is critical. To not have it, exposes Apple to risk of law suits. God forbid there is loss of life or personal injury, due to the lack of a proper functioning hands free offering. This exposes Apple to a place in the "food chain" in such a law suit. What about ststes that require hands free car phone operation? There are many phones that can be brought into a court room and demonstrated to work over a broad range of hands free devices. Having the phone do "lots of stuff" is nice but when it comes to the risk of personal injury due to design trade offs, resulting in poor, or non-existant, bluetooth protocols, Apple exposes itself, and us, to "significant damages". Imagine a loss of life situation, litigated through a class action suit? Having millions of phones sold into the market place can be a double edged sword. If I were Apple, I'd be jumping through my a__ to find a fix; or offer a public disclaimer regarding undue situational risk to the purchaser. This is a case of the company "standing erect or, being made to stand erect".
The clock is ticking.
I want to "sue" people for "incorrect" and "excessive" use of quotation marks. I'd have just as much "chance" of winning such a "lawsuit" as you would against Apple. Using quotes areound lawsuit was correct.
