Lost voice memos

I had a bunch of voice memos on my iphone that wouldn't sync with itunes. I didn't think anything about it and figured it was a glitch that would get fixed. Well, after installing 6.0 OS, all of my voice memos are gone. Is there a way to retrieve these? I need them back, bad!!!!!

Hi atthetone.

I am stil having problem in getting my voice memo.

My Scenario.

1. I have recorded important discussion and synced with MacPro Itune.

2. By mistake I deleted the file in Iphone 5 and as well as MacPro.

3. Unfortunately, I did not back up in my Time Machine.

4. After reading this thread. I connected my Iphone 5 (Lates Patch) in my Linux server. I was able to locate recording folder and I can view other recordings in Iphone 5 as well as MacPro. Except my deleted voice memo.

I desperately need my file. I tried Iexplorer in mac but still not able to recover. Can you give me step by step instruction so that I can validate my steps.

I tried the iExplorer idea. It only shows about 17 voice memos from a year or two ago, none of my lost recent ones. When I plugged my iPhone 5 in a few weeks ago it said it needed to update the software. I clicked OK or whatever. It froze hard while doing this. I had to do a restore. That's when I "lost" my voice memos. For voice memos I use the app "Recorder" by Bear-Software (I asked them for help but got no answer). After the restore all of my voice memos are gone, sort of. The folders and times of the individual voice memos were all put back on my iPhone, but if I try to play any of them I get the message "Warningw (sic) There was an error loading the sound file." I don't know anything about how this app backs up the voice memos, or where. I do have time machine backups. Would those voice memos be in my time machine backups? If so, where, and what might they be called?

Hello!!

What about if I cannot download this iExplorer. I'm working on an old Macbook with 10.5.8 and cannot upgrade!?

I have the same problem as others, I updated to the latest version for my Ipod Touch and then all my voive memos (older specially) are not there! the only one I see is the most recent one, after I did the upgrade.

Any other way I can retrieve, recover these? another advise to avoid this from happening again?

I hope I haven't lost them, I have not deleted them myself in any way that I know of. Both my mac and ipod touch shows only one (and same) voice memo on itunes!

Please help!!!!

I experienced loss of important archived voicemails on my Iphone after restoring my Iphone 4s to Iphone 5 using ITunes backup files and again about 6 mos later after restoring another new Iphone 5 with a recent ITunes backup after water damage occurred to my first Iphone 5. Nobody in my local Apple store or on Apple phone support, including a "senior technician" had any useful knowledge to assist me with this issue. Ultimately, I spent many hours researching this myself and found that Iphone voicemails are available for a limited period 30-90 days depending on the carrier but more importantly, voicemails ARE also indeed archived on an ITune backup. These voicemails are archived regardless of age assuming you didn't delete them off your IPhone before last backing up your device.

So, if you lost or damaged your iphone but have an ITunes backup, all you need is an ITunes extractor, unfortunately not available through Apple. There are several ITunes extractors available for music, photos, SMS files but most do not read voicemails. I successfully extracted from my ITune backup file all my voicemails, old and current using http://www.ipad-converters.org/recover-deleted-voicemail-on-iphone/ (Windows and MAC versions available). A life-saver!

I tried ALL of the various programs/apps/strategies mentioned here in this thread. Each one. No good. Each program only revealed the remaining 6 messages on my iPhone (I'm missing about 30?). So, big deal. I've got those remaining- that is not helpful. So, tried to restore from last backup on iTunes. Got the message that the backup was corrupted. Seriously?! I'm pretty meticulous about my equipment/hardware. Thanks, Apple. Lost some great ideas that came to me when a sketchbook wasn't handy and I used Voice Recording instead. Gone for good. That feels great. I'll never use it again, that's for sure.

I record my classes n college and go back and relisten to them and update my notes in case I miss something. Today when class ended, i accidentally clicked "delete" instead of "ok". Is there a way to get that particular memo back that I never clicked ok on? I'm seriously doubting I can get it back, but very hopeful that it still has it in there somewhere like a computer would. Apple needs to implement an undelete button for voice memos.
