How do I sync photos FROM iphone TO pc using wifi?

I have a 4S I bought in Mar 2012 - just updated to IOS6

PC is a 2011 Dell Inspirion 620 running Windows 7

Browsers are IE & Chrome

I am a computer person so I'm not new to the techno world 😉 but this is my first iphone so I'm new to Apple 😎 There are plenty of places to get info about syncing photos using icloud or syncing from PC to iPhone but I'm getting conflicting 😕 info on syincing FROM iphone TO pc using WIFI. One video I watched told me I needed to download PhotoSync so I did. Then I read that I needed the companion app for Photosync 😢 -- Apple.com talks about something called iphoto 😕 😠 😢

I am totally confused can someone please explain to me how to transfer photos FROM my iphone TO my pc using WiFi?

Do I need to download something like photosync? or another type of app.?

Thank you

Christine

Hello hwalter2001us,

I use a Windows 7 computer and I have just attempted to sync my photos from my iPhone 4 to my laptop and I successfully done it this way. No links, all in my own words so I hope it is slightly easier to understand.

Since you are using a Windows system, it should be the same, if not, slightly different.

1. Connect your iPhone to your computer/laptop via the USB cable that you would have been provided.

2. Make sure you have connected your iPhone to your computer. If you haven't, it may take a few minutes for your computer/laptop to register that you have connected an iDevice. It will need to download the correct drivers so that it can understand how to understand what your device is.

3. Now that it has connected and successfully installed (it should notify you that the device has been successfully connected). You want to press the Start button.

4. Next, click Computer and then it should open up a folder which says something like C:/ - User drive e.tc. At the bottom, it should say your iDevice.

5. Click on the iDevice and the enter the series of folders that are contained. When you get to the final folder, this should contain all of the photos you took on your iDevice. You can now select all of them by pressing Control + A or just by clicking and dragging to select them. Now either right click on the pictures that you selected and it should say Copy all. You can also, once you've pressed Control + A press Control + C to copy all of the pictures. Now go into the folder that you want them in and either right click and press Paste all or press Control + V.

This should complete the process, this is what I did. I don't know if this problem is resolved but I am posting this also for anyone who doesn't understand how to do it. This process should be the same for any iDevice but I cannot clarify this since the only Apple products I have tested this on are my iPhone 4 and my iPod Touch 2.

Thank you and I hope this helps!

Same problem here- my photos were syncing fine up until September 13, 2013 (actually not so fine- they used to take their time to sync). After that date no photos are syncing. And it's not a space issue. I don't get it.

And when a friend shared his album with my ID, suddenly and very quicly they showed up on my PC! Something very peculiar is happening here. Is this PC-Apple war every going to end?

Wow... this was hard to read without LOLing...

While the OP hwalter is likely no longer in need of help at this time, if you are checking in on this, consider:

- you asked a question, and multiple people answered it.

End of story.

You didn't like the answer, although it was correct; so you had a tantrum.

I found this thread, as I had the same question; it seems to me that iCloud works on a go-forward basis, and not a backwards basis. That is; you turn it on, and any photos you take get synced.

What you did NOT ask was (as I believe was your intent):

- How can I sync EXISTING photos on my device to the PC with WiFi?

After checking out iCloud, I figured it just wasn't worth more hassle, so I emailed them to myself.

If you have a limited data plan, and a lot of photos, that's not practical.

I don't have the final answer, but you gotta learn to ask the final question correctly!
