iPhone 5 battery life is way worse than iPhone 4

I just got an iphone 5 and I restored a backup from my iPhone 4 so I have the same settings. But the iphone 5 drains way faster than my two year old very well used iPhone 4 which is running 5.1.1. Is it because of IOS 6? Just leaving it sitting overnight lost about half the battery. My iPhone 4 hardly uses any battery while it sits overnight.

Or do I have a bad battery on my new phone?

Hey guys. I have been following this post for quite a while and I want to share the trick that worked for me.

1- Charge you iphone completely and after 100% let it chare for an hour more.

2- Unplug the iphone and restart it by holding down Power and Home button simultaneously and let it go when you see apple logo.

3- Now plugin the charger again for 2 seconds and unplug it immidiately.

4- Turn On Airplane mode and turn off Airplane mode do this 7 to 8 times with 3 seconds interval.

5- After that you are done and see the battery life if its improved or not.

I have to do it every time my usage and standby time becomes 0. Its a temporary fix for and I hope works for you guys also...

Regards,

Mark Ris.

P.S. Sorry for Bad english i am learning.... 😉

Don't forget to mention that you need to be standing on one leg and chanting in Latin while doing this........... 😎

I just purchased a new iPhone 5 64Gb model and my current network is 3G only. I have done nothing besides add music to it. I turned off bluetooth, turned off location services and turned the brightness to minimum with a 1 minute lock. The battery drains 7% in the first hour that it is unplugged. Don't quote me on it, but according to my math that would mean that the battery will only last 14 hours. I have serious doubts that this is in line with the advertised standard at http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html

What's the point of having an iPhone if you have to constantly gimp it by turning off all of the services? This is my first mobile device from Apple and I am NOT HAPPY at all.

I have been reading this post for the last month or so. I have the Iphone 5 on Sprint. I feel it is a far superior phone than 4s. My 4s was almost worthless after the upgrade this fall. I get all day plus out of my battery on the 5 and it takes a lot to kill the battery even when really low. I use LTE,3G, Wifi etc and have made some adjustments with settings but not much. Leave location on and have turned off Siri because she does not like my voice so I wasn't using it. I have made an observation on the people with the worst battery problems. It seems to me if you keep changing phones and replacing them, and still have problems, then maybe it is your reception and or phone company. It seemed to me that a lot of the people having the worst problems were not in the US. I bouce back and forth from LTE to 3G and wifi depending where I am. I have a better signal with the 5 than I ever had with 4s. I am a veterinarian and am oncall 24/7 and I just plug my phone in every night next to my bed. Have done that out of habit for as long as I have been a vet. I have a charger for car and can charge at office if necessary but rarely have to. It takes a lot to kill the phone. I do not have a problem with this phone and have the original, I did have a problem with the 4s.
