iPhone 5 battery life is way worse than iPhone 4

I just got an iphone 5 and I restored a backup from my iPhone 4 so I have the same settings. But the iphone 5 drains way faster than my two year old very well used iPhone 4 which is running 5.1.1. Is it because of IOS 6? Just leaving it sitting overnight lost about half the battery. My iPhone 4 hardly uses any battery while it sits overnight.

Or do I have a bad battery on my new phone?

I believe the battery is not installed/seated properly in thousands maybe millions of phones.. How else can u explain ppl having great battery life and some have bad battery life?? And y else wld Apple b so quick to give out replacement phones as opposed to swapping out the battery only??? This thread is over 225 pg but only 1 person has mentioned getting their battery replaced..

No your incorrect. Usage and Standby or one of the same. They aren't combined at all. You have 13hrs and 45min with 7hr and 15mins. It means that within that 13hrs and 45mins you had used your phone for 7hrs and 15mins. It doesn't mean that your phone lasted for 20hrs, but it may feel like it. With your stats, it seems rather correct, that you had used your phone non stop. technically, you can get a total of about 8hrs- to close to 9hrs usage before your battery completely drains or close to it.

What is the Model No on your Phone ? Is it MD297HN ?

Just wondering if there is some issue with that model or Serial numbers C36xxxxxxxxxxxWD ?

It may be an issue with the carrier as you mentioned. Because, I did all the downgrade to iOS 6.0.1 etc and it didn't help the battery life.

I didn't have any problem for the first month. Then all of a sudden, when I was roaming, the battery suddenly started to drain rapidly. 3g was off - so I don't think it was any data usage issue.

I haven't been able to go back to Apple just yet - but hope to get a replacement - when I do.

From all the forums - it seems to be a hardware issue with some phones and apple is replacing them.

My Usage is 24 minutes (Standby 2hrs 29min) battery down to 75%.

That seems pretty good to me. You were mostly using 3G?

After full charge, i got the above result with my iphone 5.

the 7 hr of usage includes couple of phone calls, texting, whatsapp, facebook app, some surfing, and video playback for around 90min.

Now, I wonder if the result i got is normal or what to expect off my iphone as this is my first iphone???.

Reply awaited.
