I was just having this issue and 'updaitng' genius didn't work. What I did was:

  1. Turn off iTunes Match.
  2. Turn off Genius.
  3. Turn on Genius.
  4. Turn on iTunes Match.

When I turned on Genius, it actually had a new user agreement that I had to agree to. Don't know what I had to disable it and enable it to see that new user agreement....

Also having this problem - turning it off, turning Genius on, then turning it back on did not help. Over the past few months since I subscribed to iTunes Match I've probably spent at least several hours trying to get it to work and encountering all sorts of errors. Between this and iOS 6 I'm getting very frusturated with Apple. What happened to "it just works?" =/

I'm experiencing all the same problems as everyone else here with the 4002 on itunes match.

I too have a Macbook Pro running 10.8.2 and iTunes 10.7

Goes to step 3 then prematurely loops back to step 1 then finally get the dreaded 4002 error code.

I've got a senior engineer from Apple iCloud calling tomorrow apparently so will let you guys know how it goes.
