iphone 5 touchscreen not responsive

Have had the i5 since Friday morning and I keep noticing that the screen is not responsive some of the time. I will touch something 3-4 times before it registers my touch. This problem seem exaserbated by apps that don't make use of the entire screen.

However in Mail this morning, I was composing and email and everytime that I tried to click on the "TO" line that it would register my touch all the way up on the CANCEL button and bring up the save draft box.

These are issues that I never had with my 4 or 4S and I am a little frustrated by it since I paid $700 for this thing.

Is anyone else having a similar issue?

iPhone 5, iOS 6

Ok everyone. I think I have figured it out. The capacitance discharge iphone 5 screen is picking up interference when the charging unit is plugged in to it. This prevents it from accurately registering the position of your finger and you will have effects such as screen jumps and jitters, misplaced key presses, or complete (though temporary) screen un-responsiveness.

I had tried doing a "hard off" on my phone to no avail and the proplem always occurs when charger is connected.

Just disconnect the charging cable and set it aside. Screen should be flawless again. This problem is kinda unacceptable, but they can't fix it with any software upgrade, since it is an electronics design issue.

I am just happy to know what was causing it.
