iPhone 5 Waterproof??

Leading up to the 5's launch, I was reading that the iPhone 5 might be waterproof. I got my 5 on Friday and unfortunately dropped it into a tub of water yesterday. I'm talking full submersion. Thankfully, it is still working with 100% functionality. Did they end up making the 5 waterproof because I thought my phone had no chance of survival when it happened and am very surprised that it's alive.

I am not sure if it is totally waterproof, but to me, it seems pretty close to it. I have personally dropped mine in puddles, a creek, and a sink. However, it was never for more than a few seconds. Also, I have a basic, straight-from-the-Apple-Store Speck case. It's not much protection against water, with all the cracks and holes and stuff, but it's something. Mine is a 4s, not 5s, but I imagine that, if anything, the 5s would be even more waterproof. My phone works perfectly after water and dropping it. However, overheating can be a problem for me, so that's something to watch out for. Be as careful as possible, but I would say that the iphone is much more water-resistant than other phones for sure. 🙂
