iPhone 4s, iOS 6 keep asking me for my Apple ID password

Hi,


I have updated my iPhone to iOS 6. The problem it keeps asking for my apple id password. I can either click cancel or fill the password, it works just fine but will pop up again. First I tought it was related to one specific app (LINE by NAVER) but not always. I have tried google for answer but had no luck. Any idea? I deleted the LINE app, and reinstalled. I even restored the phone but nothing helped.

Hi All


I have now resolved the issue with mine.

At the same as these issues I was changing my appleId and username which worked successfully allowing me to log into iTunes download apps But it kept prompting for me to log in to my old account - when I tried it it failed because it has been successfully changed

My back up to iCloud would also not work

I had logged out and back in to the iTunes Store on my phone


What I have tried to do at this period is get shut of the @me email address Apple give you as I have no need for it and wanted to scale down all my emails accounts etc


But the only way I got around te issues is to go to

- settings - iCloud- iCloud account information

It would not let me edit the current apple Id and was greyed out

So I backup my phone via my PC

Then went back into the settings

Deleted the account and logged back in using my @me account details and this cured the issue


So although I changed my primary email address details I still had to enter my @me account details to get everything working

I can now backup to iCloud and the error message has stopped

I was having some serious issues with my phone including it asking for my PW all the time, I'm sure you all can relate to that one. In addition, my iPhone would not backup to icloud either. To resolve this issue, I spent over 5 hours on the phone with various apple employees. Nobody could figure it out so eventually my claim got escalated to a senior advisor. We tried several trouble shooting options (hence the long time on the phone). I will spare you the tediousness of non-solutions and skip right to what has seemed to work.


Here is what we ended up doing:

Step 1: Save any pictures, contacts, etc. that are important (even though my phone wasn't syncing with icloud, when I plugged it in I still had access to my photos).

Step 2: Restore the iphone to factory setting (I know this sounded like a sucky option for me, but it worked and not too much was lost)

Step 3: Once my iphone was restored, I had to my iphone and go into settings – general – reset – reset all settings. From there it gave me the option to restore my iphone from a previous icloud backup (My last backup just so happened to be the day before I installed the ios6 update, I would bet that yours is probably similar).

Step 4: Once I had the iphone restored, my apps kept crashing so I deleted all of those and reinstalled them thru itunes.


I have had no issues with it since doing that about 3 weeks ago. I know this is a pain to correct and it was annoying, but given the time I spent talking to Apple employees and their general confusion with this issue, I think this is probably going to be the easiest solution. Hope this helps!

Hi, it appears to be when a password is changed and not updated in the settings.

If you go into settings then the cloud option then into where it has your email or apple I.D option is just update the password to your new recently changed password and it should stop doing it.

It seems that when you change the apple password it does not update the password for the cloud back up automatically.

I had this problem too! I changed my apple id email address online but it didn't change on my phone. My iphone kept using my old email address as the apple id. I couldn't change it on my phone because it was greyed out!


To fix it after days of trying...I went into Settings on my phone--chose icloud and then deleted the account off my iphone--Once I didn that I was able to click on icloud settings again and the correct email address that matched my icloud account on my laptop was now the one on my iphone. Hope this works for you...

My iphone 5 is not sending me my email, just on my yahoo account, started suddenly yesterday. I have tried turning the phone off and on, re-entered my password for that email (my gmail is working correctly) multiple times, etc. It keeps asking me to enter my password and I do and then it still doesn't give me my email.


It seems that the yahoo account on the iPhone is NOT saving the password. The password for the gmail account IS being saved in the iPhone.


All the other stuff in the phone appears to be working correctly.


Yahoo had some problems this week, so maybe my problem is just specific to yahoo mail?

This fixed it for me and thanks for this tip. When I went to iCloud it had my old email address listed. I just deleted it and my new one magically appeared in it's place. No more annoying popups 🙂
