I can receive email on my new iphone 5 but cannot send any.  have followed suggestions on apple site.  any ideas?

I had a similar issue using Comcast email on an iPhone 5. I figured out the problem was caused by different passwords in the incoming mail server and the outgoing mail server. Click on passwords to change them. See images. Hope this helps.

Seetings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Select the account.

Select SMTP under Outgoing Server.

Make sure your (email) User Name and Password are entered.
