Hi all,
I am with T-Mobile in Germany and read a lot of your comments. In Frankfurt T-Mobile provides LTE coverage which is super-fast but drains the battery like crazy. Within 4 hours I had lost 40% of the battery. That day I switched LTE off following the advice of some of you and the next day I only lost 10% during the same amount of time and similar (low) usage.
It is pretty obvious that LTE kills my iPhone's battery rather quickly. I wonder if it has to be like that and how this could have possibly escaped Apple's engineers while they were testing their latest product. It's like Toyota would sell a Yaris (don't know if this - well, let's call it a car - is sold over there in the US but you can find it on Google) consuming 6 gallons per 100 mls (I really had to think about this one, metric system over here!).
Today the phone has been off the charger for more than 10 hrs. As I was in a lot of meetings I didn't really use it except for reading mails (fetching) and messages and a few short phonecalls. I am still at 70%, that's a satisfying result. Of course, neither BT nor LTE activated, while WiFi was on all day.
Best regards from Germany!
