iPhone 5 flash of camera does not work right

i have a problem with the camera of iPhone5. If I want make a photo in a dark room with flash, the flash appears to short and after the flash is out, the cam makes the photo and so my photo is only black. Have someone else this problem? Is this a software or a hardware problem?

I've got this problem with my iPhone 5 too. First noticed it at a wedding last weekend - bad time to notice problems with a camera phone.


I flew to the wedding, so the phone was turned on and off multiple times before the wedding, and I still had the issue. Same thing when I got back - turned it on and off a few times on the way, still had the flash issue.


Assuming the power cycle works, it only gets rid of the issue temporarily.


I've still got my iPhone 4, and it has the latest software, and it doesn't have this problem.

I am having the same problem.


The flash fires, then goes out before the camera takes the picture. So you end up with a dark image. Here's a couple of picsof my cat in the dark taken with iPhone 5 and the flash on:

As you can see the images are totally useless.


I hope Apple sort this out as the camera takes some fab pics and this can not be a "normal" camera issue like the "purple-flare" issue.
