iPhone 5 time and date issues

So, I activated my vzw iPhone5 Saturday. Very much enjoying it. Woke up yesterday and was very confused because my phone thought it was 8/26/12 and 30 minutes later than the actual time. I reset network settings and it self resolved...until this morning. I woke up and looked at my phone and had a melt down because my alarm never went off. I hurriedly got ready and looked at the microwave as I ran out, and it was 30 minutes earlier than my iPhone said.

My iPhone apparently is doing something weird and reverting to 8/26/12 + 30 minutes while I (and it) sleep. It throws off iMessage and I'm sure the rest of the date/time dependent apps, so I've turned off the automatic time setting for now, and its fine now (so far lol). But I would like to know what the real issue is if possible!?! Is it my phone? VZW? Does it matter?

Thanks in advance :0)

So this is what I have tried...

Turn off Auto Time and set time manually.... Fail

Reset All Settings (under General menu).... Fail

Leave disconnected from Wi-Fi.... Fail

Restore software and set up from back up.... Fail

Restore and set up as new phone... Fail

Replace phone at Apple Store... Fail

Replace sim card at Verizon store.... Fail

Restore firmware using a fresh downloaded file... Fail

Restore firmware and set up from scratch with a new iTunes account without downloading any apps, contacts or anything.... Fail

I have verified the date/time settings on my 2 month old MacBook Pro I use to sync phones

I have verified the date/time settings on my Linksys router (not that that matters because the time changes when its not connected to the router)

All of the above has been done on both a white and a black 16gig iPhone 5 on Verizon...

The date/time for both is always behind 14 days 18 hours 48 minutes and 19 seconds so that tells me it is keeping time with something... Lets collectively compile all this info so we can get to the bottom of this problem and get it worked out quickly

Apple does have the engineers looking into this for me.

They called Verizon and had my account be reprovisioned, after a reset network settings, the issue was not resolved.

The guy said I would hear back in about 4 days, been about 2 now. I will let you guys know what Apple says after that.

The dude on the phone said that restoring the device doesn't work for this, and currently there isn't a fix. He isn't sure if it is related to just Verizon or Apple as well. But they are certainly looking into it.

It's going to be a VZ issue. Got my iPhone 5 on 9/25/12 and began noticing the weird space/time issue that everyone here has been experiencing. Thought it was my pretty new phone until my wife's HTC Thunderbolt started doing the same thing. We haven't noticed or experienced any time and date shifts in the past couple of days however.

I originally thought it was because I was transiting from an LTE region through 3G country and to the safety of my WiFi network at home. Twice during the transit from LTE into 3G I received notification that my settings were skewed and that I wouldn't be able to use iMessage or much of anything else until I fixed the settings. A quick power down/up cycle restored it.

Again, I haven't noticed this issue as of this past weekend on either mine or my wife's phone. If they haven't already resolved the issue, I hope VZ gets on it quick.

So it happened again today while I was at work. Notice the time was 3 hours ahead. I had a feeling it might be a LTE problem so I went to settings, general, cellular, enable LTE off the turn back on. I notice that Verizon Signal was searching then fixed my time. I have only tried this once and it worked. It won't resolved the issue just fixes the time back to normal until it does it again. Everyone try this out and write a post if it works. That way Verizon or Apple can fix this soon.

Same issue- date/time has changed to wrong time many times. I have a black iPhone 5 on Verizon. I'm in the eastern time zone. Currently the time is behind 19 days 2 hrs 30 min. It's a simple fix to toggle the set date time button off and back on. It is still very annoying. The first time it happened was last thurs sept 27 -I received the iPhone on tues. I traveled to Kentucky this wknd and it happened several times in different states.. Doesn't matter if its on LTE, 3G or wifi. My friend's white iphone 5 was on the same network with the exact same wrong time at the same time. Hope apple and Verizon can communicate to fix this problem. Definitely and iPhone 5 only problem and a Verizon problem.

I'm having the exact same issue with 3 iPhone 5s. I had one that I returned to Apple due to arriving with a scratched back, that iPhone was also changing time. Here's what I've noticed:

- All four iPhone 5s exhibit this problem..

- The time shift is always 12 hours and several minutes off in the past. For instance, this morning at 5:50am Oct. 2, my iPhone 5 said it was 5:05pm. Oct. 1st.

- The time shift happens on wifi and cellular network.

- The time shift happens with auto time set feature in general settings turned off, turned on, with location services turned off or on, after resetting network connections, with wifi turned off or on and with Bluetooth turned off or on. In other words, it doesn't matter what setting I have on the iPhone 5. It will still screw up the time. It has also messed up the time when I've turned auto time set off and set my time zone manually to someplace like China and then turned auto time back on and set to correct time zone.

- I don't live in a place with a time zone change or shift. I live in North Carolina.

- this issue is NOT happening on my new iPads running iOS6. These are the new iPads.

- this issue did NOT happen with our iPhone 4, or 4S.

- This issue happens at least once a day to each iPhone. It has continued after upgrading to Verizon's 13.1 update to fix issue with cellular data being used when iPhone is on wifi.

For those of you with this issue, I assume its breaking iMessage and Push Notifications as well, correct? My date and time don't noticeably change, but my iMessage and APNS break frequently. One odd thing in seeing, and some other people as well, is that turning cellular stat off completely fixes it and I have a ton of crash logs for APNS in Settings > General > About > Diagnostics and Usage. Someone said this might be related to corrupted tokens, but no one knows yet.

Anyone else seeing this?

I'm on VZW in LA, btw.

Same issue here on VZW in southern California. 16gb iPhone 5. Very frustrating, the reason I left the Android world was their half-baked OS. How could Apple & Verizon collectively let this happen? Quite frankly, I don't really care who's fault it is, the finger pointing has to stop and they both need to focus on a solution like now...
