mail wont accept yahoo password

I resolve my one by login web yahoo from mobile safari once and then recreate the yahoo mail setting in IOS.

Seem yahoo need to authenticate a specifc device before the corresponding IOS yahoo client to use specific yahoo service.

I had the same problem too on my mac and phone. In my case it appears that the consolidation yahoo is doing messed up the passwords. mail was using my yahoo flicker password. I have no idea how they got switched as i had not used the flicker password for months and things suddenly went bad a couple of weeks ago. See if you can access yahoo mail on the web with remember me unchecked. if you cannot logon your yahoo password is screwed. Get a new one. Delete yahoo from mac mail. Go to keychain and delete any yahoo mail passwords associated with account. Rebuild mac mail and you should be good until yahoo messes things up again. I was on the phone with apple support for an hour last night and this fixed my problem

This just worked for me. Go to "settings"; go to Safari; go to "clear cookies and Data" THEN go to email and enter Yahoo password. Of course, I may have created other problems but my Yahoo email is working.
