~ POWER PC APPLICATIONS NO LONGER SUPPORTED ~

Hello there

I am running on Mac OS X v 10.8.2

I have a licenced copy of MS Office and have not had a problem using it, until a recent Mac 'update'!

Since then, whenever I try to access it I get the following message:

"You can't open the application 'Microsoft Word' because PowerPC Applications are no longer supported"

How do I resolve this Please? Any ideas?

Cheers

Derek

What version of Office are you using? It must be 2004 or older, which are old apps compiled to run on Motorola PowerPC chips, which no Mac has used in a long time now. Support for PowerPC apps was eliminated in Mac OS X 10.7 (aka Lion). You need to upgrade to a newer version of Office, or replace it with something else like Apple's Pages or the free OpenOffice or LibreOffice.
