iPhone 5 Bluetooth Issues with Car Radio

I have a Nissan X-Trail with Bluetooth radio, since I have purchased my new iPhone 5, I have been told by any person listning that the reception is terrible, apparently sounding hollow, weak, echo somtimes, and generally noisy, however I can hear them ok. I had an iPhone 4s previously which did not exhibit these effects.

Is anyone else having weid problems with the iPhone 5 Bluetooth connected to there car radio ?

I have re-set the Wi-Fi settings, and no change, normal talking without Bluetooth is ok.

This is very frustrating for a new phone, as I require it constantly due to the amount of time I spend in my Vehicle

If this appears to be a common problem, I hope Apple can resolve it URGENTLY.

I have a quick update that I hope helps others. My problem has been resolved. In a nut shell, I went to the MFG's website, in my case Kenwood.com. Went to their support page and updated the firmware and software (4.0 and 5.0 respectively) they had available for my receiver. The updates had no mention of correcting my specific problem but took a chance and apparently, IT WORKED OUT!

I have a 2013 Model Nisssan X Trail and an iphone 5. I have the same issues. I can hear people fine but they hear an echo. Every call i make no matter if its to a land line, mobile or Android phone and they have this problem.

I have spoken to nissan and they say its not their problem and apple need to fix it?

Any patches yet??

I had this same issue on the KDC-X996 and called Kenwood after fighting with it for a few hours, The support tech pointed me to the Bluetooth compatibility page http://www.kenwood.com/cs/ce/bt/index.php After putting in my model for both head unit and Apple/iPhone 5s, It took me to a page that had a firmware specifically for the bluetooth unit built into the radio. NOT the normal firmware page, A bluetooth specific one. After downloading and updating my radio has no issues with the bluetooth audio controls any more and the song name and etc now work again. There is also a pdf that explains how to go about updating the bluetooth firmware

This apparently has to deal with Apple putting support for this KB:

Some car stereos require a firmware update for AVRCP 1.4 Bluetooth compatibility
