iPhone 5 Showing incorrect Time. Unable to send text messages.

Ok here's my problem. My time on my iPhone is incorrect. I check my settings it's on automatic and it is set to my Hawaii time zone. I am unable to send text messages because I believe the time is not the same as the server. When I try to send a text it says Go to Date & time settings. This happens at least once a day. My time would be incorrect for 10 mins then go back to correct time. This happens on LTE and on WiFi. I also have rebooted the iPhone. One last thing. I check my battery usage. It's says 4,294,967,278 days on Standby. I guess the time is messing up my stats. Anyone have the same problem? Please help. If not I hope new ios update fix this.

I am in Roswell GA, around 120 and Hembree Rd (North Fulton Hospital) 🙂

It's good to know that disabling LTE helps (I told Apple support about this). Hopefully, Sprint and Apple do their job as we have done ours enough.

Yes it's a LTE problem. I haven't had a problem for 5 days now. Let Verizon know if your having problems.

On Sprint here and having same issue. Techs at Sprint said hard Reset as well so we'll see.

Don't waste your time. It won't fix the problem. I even did full restore (manufacturing setting). I am still having the problem. Disabling LTE seems the best option we have until this bug is fixed. My wife's phone has still correct time (with LET disabled).

I'm not sure it's related to LTE. My house is on the edge of our LTE coverage area, so when I'm home, more often than not my phone's on 3G and it's still occasionally losing the correct date/time.

Also, does the phone get the automatic date/time from the cell network/signal when it's on wi-fi? Because mine will also lose the correct date/time when it's on wi-fi at home and not the cell network.

What ever the problem is, Apple needs to fix it ASAP!

Same problem, Western NC, black 64 Gig, iPhone5, home/work have spotty LTE, this morning the time was August 24, today at lunch the date was Sept 27, maybe apple is trying to perfect time warping? I suspect LTE issues....

I'm sure it's a LTE tower problem.I have not done anything to my phone in the past few days. It's all on default settings. Automatic time zone. I was having my time change every single day twice a day. So far no problems in the past 5 days. I guess to many complaints in Hawaii and they fixed it. Just have to let them know your having issues in your area.

Add me to the list. Two iPhone 5's on Verizon in central North Carolina, and both have experiences random date/time shifts now or more than one occassion. Please fix this someone!

Okay, I can duplicate this issue whenever I want now, simply by connecting to my homes wireless router. I don't think this is an issue with LTE, but rather how the phone is retrieving location data when connected to certain routers to automatically adjust time zone settings. I didn't review every post, so..

UPDATE: Changing the timezone on the router did in fact stop the phone from adjusting it's time. If you notice you phone displaying the incorrect time when on Wi-Fi, this is probably the solution you're looking for.

I don't think so;

Checked time on my wireless router (both at home and at work) and both were correct while the phone was not.

However, here is something interesting. My boss and I both have this phone and today, we BOTH had the SAME wrong date and time! So we've got to both be getting it from the same place...

As I said, I've checked everything in the domain and all is correct... so this data MUST be coming from some external source.

And all of this wouldn't be so bad if having the time wrong didn't mess with messaging, ability to log into various apps, etc.

Didn't humans master tracking time fairly accurately hundreds of years ago?!?

It's a Verizon tower problem. My phone hasn't change time and date for a week now. I guess someone fixed the Verizon tower here in Maui. I have everything set to automatic. You have to be patient. I didn't do anything to my phone.

One of the tricks mentioned before has been working so far. Wife an i both have a 5 and we turned her LTE off an left mine on. Her phone has stayed correct and mine is off at least once a day. We are on sprint so not just a Verizon issue.

madder than a hornet here in Bloomington, IN Wrong time every day by 6 min then 12 min then two hours!!!! turning off lte fixes it. BUT I BOUGHT AN LTE PHONE !!!!!!!

this has been a huge waste of my time i am so dissapointed in apple

sorry arm surgery so bad typing

talked conference with verizon and apple they have no idea when fix coming

im gonna go try new lte card in phone from verizon

meanwhile apple sending me new phone to try
