Iphone 5 signal loss

Anyone else having a problem where when you lose signal for a lengthy period time such as on the train the phone doesnt find signal again when you are clearly in a area that would have signal. Only way around this for it to stop saying "No service" is to reboot the phone.

It reboots and has signal again

Anyone else getting this problem?

iPhone 5, iOS 6

Ok, now I'm seeing a pattern.

Like above I restored my ip5 from my ip4

Backup on the 1st setup.

Then the problems begun.

I then reset my network settings and problem solved.

And to be honest, I haven't plugged into iTunes from that day.

I see people above who restore many times but the problems persisted.

But doesn't iTunes backup then restore, wouldn't

This just fix/break/fix/break the network settings?

I'm sure it's something iTunes or icloud is doing to the phone?

After searching the internet I have found this thread on here.

Im having the exact same problems. I have good signal but when im at work at my desk I lose signal. The first time I noticed this was when I arrived home and noticed that I had "no service". I just ignored it at first and after 20 mins I still had no signal (I normally average around 4 bars signal at home). I decided to switch the phone off and back on and then didnt think anything of it. Then the same happened again the following day and so on... The phone gets stuck on the "no service" until i restart the phone.

Im very annoting by this, I never had this issue on my iPhone 4 and although the iPhone 5 is a great piece of technology it doesnt actually serve its purpose... afterall, it is an iPHONE. I have missed about 20 calls in total and a good amount of texts because of this issue.

I phoned apple who adviced me to reset network settings, this didnt work. They then said restore the phone, this didnt work. They said get a new sim card, this also didnt work. They said start the phone as a new phone, and it still doesnt work.

I was in two minds about buying this iPhone and to be honest, I shouldnt have bothered buying it. Im visting the genius bar at my local apple store next week, not sure what they will do but obviously, this is an issue that Apple need to sort out and QUICK!

Just thought I'd add my experience. My 5 has been doing the same thing, gets stuck on edge requiring a reboot or airplane mode on/off to bring it back to 4g. I took it to AT&T and they tried a new sim which didn't help. Then I tried apple and got the ok for a new phone. I litterally just got home from the hour drive to the apple store and my NEW phone just got stuck on edge *banghead*. I have not been home yet to restore from my iTunes backup, aside from backing up my contacts from cloud, it's a virgin phone. I'm seriously thinking about just telling them I want my money back and a 4s. My 4 never had one issue in two years of owning it. :(

I have the same problem, lives in Vancouver BC, Canada. Just bought 2 new Iphone 5 yesterday. Will get signal back after reset network settings, but then at home have to re-enter Wifi settings. Have same problem on both phones and by the way no I-cloud or I-tunes setup on these phones yet. I now went to settings-privacy-location services-scroll to bottom-system services and disabled all except compass, time zone, traffic as suggested above and will see how it works

Live in Connecticut and this has been a constant problem. As LTE is not in Connecticut yet, or at least the area I most frequent, turned off LTE last night before work. So far it seems to be working. I will lost signal momentarily inside work then it will go right back to 4G. Will give it some time and see what happens.\

This isn't an LTE specific issue. We in the UK don't have LTE yet.

One interesting, but I'm not sure how it's related point. I didn't get the issue today and I had Bluetooth enabled. Doesn't seem to have the issue when it's on. I'm in work now and have a signal, without having to go in to airplane mode.

Maybe it's not Bluetooth but the fact it's Monday and a bit foggy. Who knows.
