Q: Iphone 5 signal loss

Anyone else having a problem where when you lose signal for a lengthy period time such as on the train the phone doesnt find signal again when you are clearly in a area that would have signal. Only way around this for it to stop saying "No service" is to reboot the phone.

It reboots and has signal again

Anyone else getting this problem?

iPhone 5, iOS 6

Well we are now on third Sims.  So far we have been a bit over a week without signal loss.

A person in a EE shop told us that it was definitely a hardware issue with poor signal reception in the iphone 5 and 5S.  We swapped the sims anyway though.  Tried getting handset replaced for something else and we're told no way.  So if problem keeps cropping up it will be a case of swapping for another iphone 5 until the end of the contract....

I just received a new iphone from apple, no improvement though. So this means I have to continue to try to get it switched until I am lucky enough to get one of the good ones? Does the 5c have the same problems? Otherwise I would try to  get mine switched to that one, it is very exhausting to send phones back and forward all the time...

Think its the latest software. We have a 4s, 5 & 5s at work all on Vodafone & we repeatedly cannot access data or if the phone is called it goes straight to voicemail. Vodafone tech suggested we take the network off Auto & try another one for a minute or so & then put back to Auto. Apparently the phones are not regularly registering with the network - mine was over 8 days ago - which they need to do for good operation.

Hence my guess is Apple' software version 7 plus - prior to this we didn't have this issue & we've been using iphones for the past 5 years or so.

    Hi,

I have to Iphone's, 5 and 5s and haven't have any problems with them at all since I bought theese.

But when I updated thoose with 7.1 the problem occur immediate. resulting that the 5 got problem with timesync and lost wifi connection and I had to send it to support.

My 5s suddenly loose connection to mobile network and every call goes directly to the answering service, and the strange thing is that then I receive an SMS that I have messages at the answering service.

After at short restart I got connected again, but it still disturbing because I depending of the phone in my work.

    Please do this :

Go to Settings  > Reset > Reset Network Settings

This solved the problem for me. Ill have to check for how long. GIven its networks, it may be hardware and the problem can arise again.. thats my hypothesis... but yes as a temporary solution, this works.
