Just went to apple store and they replaced my phone with a new one. The apple care assistant didn't hesitate about the swap, but when asked, couldn't confirm that it was a wide spread issue.
I have the same issue. iPhone 5 black, 64 gb. I reset the network settings, restore to factory defaults and i couldn't fix it. Only work with loud speaker. So i'll ask for warranty.
Hi there, I have exactly the same problem with my new iPhone5. I think it's hardware problem.
Same Issue regretting my decison to go to Iphone 5. Problems like this should never have made it out to the buyers.
I have had my iphone for a month, then my microphone stopped working. No one can hear me except if I go on speaker, bluetooth or earphone. Can anybody help?
It's happened to my iPhone when I call someone they can't hear me I can't hear them I have tried rebooting my phone the lot still not working please help
Just experienced this problem a couple of days ago. Oddly, the whole 'pressing on the glass on the internal speaker opening worked. We'll see if it holds ... Thanks for your help!
Pressing on the screen worked for me as well, its ridiculous, but as its my only source of contact with my clients, its a quick fix. I will be sending my phone in for repairs
Same problem on my iPhone5. The internal earphone works again by turning off the cellular data and disconnecting the wifi, and restore to on.
This actually worked for me! My internal speaker was not working so i could only take calls using loudspeaker. I turned of cellular as you said & now all fixed! Thank you!!!
it's working for me!!! after I red all the comments.. I tried to press down the screen near to the built-in headset speaker..!!! it worked..!!!! hope It stayed that way...!!!
Phone thinks it in headphone mode. Probably some junk in there. I took some compressed air and blew out the headphone jack a few times really well and it fixed the problem.
I recently had this problem and in short it everything was fine when I switched bluetooth off. Defo check this before doing any hardware fixes or going to an apple store
