Safari crashes when downloading or uploading a file on Windows 7

Since a couple of days, whenever I try to download or upload a file through Safari (5.1.7) on Windows 7.

I thought it could be a problem with the recently released iCloud 2.0, since the problem started to occur right around the time iCloud updated.

So I already tried to repair Safari and completely reinstalled Safari as well as iCloud. But Safari keeps crashing every time.

Since this is really annoying, I am hoping that someone here maybe has another idea about how to fix this.

Here is the error message, by the way:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

------------------------------------------------------

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\Safari\Safari.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Thank you for your help!

PS: Talking about Safari on Windows, when is Safari 6 coming to Windows users? Or better yet, when is the 27" iMac hardware refresh, so I can finally make the switch over to Macintosh? 🙂

I found a solution to the problem:

You have to uninstall the iCloud board from the desktop and it's possible to downoad/upload on safari.

I do not use the iCloud board, but it can be complicated for the ones who need it to sync contacts and calenders form Outlook.

Please Apple, repair that! I had this problem for more than 2 months (since the Safari 5.1.7 update).

Hope this could help,

Well, I now actually chose the most expensive solution to this problem there is: I bought an iMac. 😉

As it was described here, the best (yet for me impractical) solution is to uninstall or deactivate iCloud, since that seems to be causing all the problems. I still hope this is going to be fixed for all those stuck on Windows, but I wouldn't count on it, since Safari 6 was not even released for Windows (yet).

Thanks for the help!

I've been having this problem for months now, and it's driving me crazy.

At the office, we have Windows 7 PCs. I have the most recent Apple software (Safari and iCloud). I need iCloud to keep synced, and I'd prefer to keep working with Safari in stead of another browser because of synced bookmarks etc.

Could Apple please solve this, because I constantly need to upload/download images to websites and if I'm not paying attention (by quickly switching to another browser for uploading/downloading images when editing web sites) my brower (with all of the active tabs) shuts down. It makes us, Apple users, look utterly foolish with the Windows colleagues.

Safari is becoming an impossible workstation browser for me. Apple, save your workstation image and 'Apple software plays well with Windows computers' image and do something please?
