iPhone 5 Camera Horrible Purple Lines Down Pictures!

I can call Apple, but I don't think they will send me a new phone. They definitely will ask me to come to the nearest AppleStore.

Hey guys!! regards my last comment, my iphone 5 does not reveal these such hurrible purple lines on the main camera again. I keep trying to take a photo many and many time but it would not huhuhu. Hopefully, it has been fixed its self.

Apple please help me, the Apple reseller at Puebla, Mexico did not solve this at the first time, they just leave me without iphone three days and told me that was just software. I cant connect to Wi-Fi too. This is my second time in 40 days losing my time because your device, come on, you can do it better.

People, in my experience there are good iPhone 5 and bad iPhone 5. My first one was bad and the purple lines were always under my eyes. I sent back to the apple store online and they sent me a new one perfectly working! So there is only one solution: sending back the bad one and asking for a change!

PS: they were very gentle with me in the phone conversation and were quick in sending me the new device!

Of course you can change as I did only if you buy on Online Apple Store. If you buy in retail it doesn't work anymore (I think) because Online and Retail (I think) are different channels.

This Saturday I have an apointment at the Genius Bar in Amsterdam.

this problem occured again last weekend, so I need to have a new one, because this is not good!!!

hopefully they will give me a new one 😁

visited Apple Store Amsterdam last Saturday and they told me that firmware 6.1 solves this problem.

That can be right, because I have used my camera a lot last week and it never happened again.

So, if you still have these problems, please update to 6.1... then you should be fine again 😁

nope, already update to 6.1, n the purple line still there, but not often.

Its a hardware problem people, not software...if its software, everyone will be fixed with iOS 6.1 but its not. so send back to your Apple Store.

then you have to book an appointment with the Genius bar...

Hello, I have the same problem with those pink lines appear on camera. Now I had rebooted the phone and I m at now least I am still on camera, but hopfully nothing wrong appears. I hope it will be OK

I just got back from the Apple Store. I showed them this screenshot (from my iPhone 5), and told them this was a frequent occurrence. I left the store with a new iPhone! Sorry, but I should have asked what they actually call this issue. (It's certainly not the "purple flare" issue.)

I too had this problem - a mixture of pink/grey lines on the screen or occasionally half the screen turning pink. It would happen only when using the camera and - interestingly - if the iPhone was a little bit cold.

I took it to an Apple store and they immediately replaced it with a new iPhone. Excellent service, Apple.

For some reason though Apple is convinced it is a software problem and wants me to reproduce the problem with a freshly restored phone (no own data on it).

Has anybody succeeded in resolving this through software?

That's just wrong. They replaced mine (at an Apple Store) without even blinking. I was in and out in 10 minutes with a new phone! Hope you can get your situation resolved.
