iPhone 5 Camera Horrible Purple Lines Down Pictures!

Hi, Occasionally when I am taking pictures or videos with the main camera I get loads of streaks of purple/blueish lines and if I take the photo while these lines appear they actually show up on the photo. So I think it must be a hardware problem. I'm in the UK on o2.

hi bro, i captured one video with the problem, went to the MAXIS service center at TTDI (upper floor), showed the staff the video, no question asked and replace with a new phone in 10 min, but do bring along your maxis warranty card (the one that stick together with the box), no need to bring accessories as they will just replace the phone with special replacement unit in their store room (there are not refurbished but brand new).

I have the same issue with my iphone 5, the problem is, when i took it back to the globe telecom philippines, they didnt replace it, instead the took my phone and sent it in their main office and told me to wait for 1month because the only thing they could do is repair it. What is more upsetting is that they did not even give me a temporary phone to be use.

I have experienced the stripe problem with the camera of my two week old iPhone 5 yesterday. I rebooted the phone and tried to reduplicate the issue, but it hasn't happened again since then. I wonder what it depends on but can't imagine it's a hardware problem, because I guess it should happen each time I use the camera in the same conditions and shouldn't be resolved by a reboot of the device...

Trust me this is a hardware problem and you will see the problem again sometime soon. I have 2 unit stock iPhone 5 with same installations with latest iOS 6. One exhibit the problem once a while while the other never. The defect with the purple stripes are quite common for low end digicam also, its a problem with the sensor, not the software. Simple logic question: If its a software problem, why some have this problem and others never while everyone is using the same latest software?!

It's just like you said, there is defo something up with the GPRS 3G to 2G switch. If I turn 3G off and WIFI at the same time then launch the camera to take a pic, the purple lines come up straight away. It does seem to be the radio is interfering with the camera. It's bizarre and irritating and I'm not really happy to take my 6 week old iPhone back to apple so they can give me a refurbished one when mine is a brand new unit. I'm going to get in touch with O2 and put a complaint forward unless they acknowledge this and offer me a new unit (sealed) or terminate my contract.
