Green glow on iPhone 5 unlock screen?

I've had my iPhone 5 for a few days now and I've noticed this issue more and more. Whenever I wake my iPhone there is a split second where a green glow around the edge of the screen is visible. It's a bit like light leakage but its green and only appears for a fraction of a second after you turn on the screen. It is also sometimes activated by using the slide to unlock, which makes it glow brighter.

Does anyone else have this happening with their new iPhone? I don't know if this is the start of a defect or not... I have had very rare graphical flickering and tearing of the keyboard UI, but that's only happened once or twice and only for a second, as soon as I started typing it went away.

It looks like this might turn into a trip to the Apple store, I just wanted to know if anyone else has noticed this weird phenomenon on their new iPhones.

It sounds like this issue has varying degrees of severity. I had my phone replaced this week, I don't even notice the green glow anymore, UNLESS i wipe the screen with my entire forearm (which is not a common use scenario)..., I do not see it at any other time than that.

I am aware that the iphone 5 screen is produced differently from previous phones usinga newer in-cell technology (whatever that really means)

well my screen almost glows green every time I unlock it....and if I use my outer palm I can get it to glow almost the whole screen at a time...so the guy at the store told my that I just shouldn't use it that way then but it really annoyes me while playing games -_-

and if I pay 679 Euros I want to be using my iPhone in the way I like without experiencing any difficulties!!

BTW. If schedueled an appointment next week, i'm probably not leaving the store that day without an excellent working device.

I think it has to do with the date the iPhone was produced so i'm hoping they'll have a refreshed stock by next week! 😉

Bought my iPhone in Germany and got it on the very first day.

Today I called the Apple Support and explained my problem. They told me to wait 1-2 weeks until they get a new stock of iPhones. He said that the first stock of iPhones was pretty defective.

Fortunately there are no refurbished devices yet so I will get a brand new one.

Probably I'm going to get the Apple Care though to be prepared for upcoming problems and to get an express exchange.
