iPhone 5 can't send SMS - gets an error when sending SMS

Just to know, I´m using a real nano sim card, not a cutted one. Yesterday I sent an email to Tim Cook and I´m waiting an answer.

Well...lets add Thailand to the list too....😠

just spoked with apple after a 30 min international call. nothing extra given. asked me to check my local carrier in dubai.

it seems that apple are not accepting that they have an issue. by they way i have 3 phones with this issue

... So Apple support told you to check with your local carrier ? ... And what they said when you told them that we are hundreds of people having this issue ?... They still think about local carrier failure ??? Again what a joke, day after day Apple shows really how they take care about their clients, it's unacceptable and must continue to put pressure by all ways

I am using my so called unlocked iphone 5 from sprint in Iran. Everything is working well BUT I cannot send any sms. I can receive them but i can't reply. I hope we can find a solution soon otherwise we are all ------.!

In Uzbekistan, we have the same issue, all Sprint iphone 5's can not send sms..((

It looks like Apple sells in priority the Sprint iPhone for overseas clients visiting US ... Easy they can't return the device after ...

Agree with the "intentional" ... few sells I could understand but the scale of the mistake is too big to be due to bad trained sellers ... this is so unprofessional, and this silence makes Apple looks like a vulgar brand obsessed with the sells score ... what an opportunity for the concurrency

I have the exact same problem, i bought a IP5 in NY from Apple Store. It came with a sprint card inserted. I removed the sprint card and added card from my carrier. Everything worked fine.. calling, sending mms, data traffic. Exept for the sms... imessage works offcourse, but standard sms dont work. When i hit send it after 0.1 secound shows "error sending message".

How come we can call and do everything exept from sms? sounds a bit strange. And does somebody have any soulution for this yet? Its ok to send mms instead, but after a while it will be a bit expensive from sending sms.

imessage works only with your apple id but cannot activate your phone number, same for Facetime, your actual phone number cannot be registered right ?

Yes... also when my carrierer tries to contact my phone, they dont get any answer.

I will email Apple about this, hopefully they will try to fix this issue.

Is it something sprint can do? Send a code or something for unlocking the phone? Seems very strange that nobody has "cracked" this... 😟
