iPhone 5 can't send SMS - gets an error when sending SMS

People - I'm using a Sprint iPhone 5 with my local GSM chip. Everything works fine, except sending SMS.

All basic troubleshooting has been done: checked SMS settings, erased Network Settings, checked SMS Service # through *#5005*7672# and it is fine, restored the phone and re-checked everything above again... and nothing. :-(

Please help?

It happened to me when I got my iPhone from US, I got a Sprint iPhone 5 64 Gigas.

Apple Support solved it in less than 1 day, please everybody call Apple Support via phone and explain your situation and if you are not in US use any internet call service.

the problem lies with the phone CDMA modem which is locked and GSM part which in unlocked by defualt to roam out side US.

so when u pay the full price, it supposed to be fully unlocked and that what Apple Support will do.

I have connected apple support here in Italy and they sent me below:

Symptoms

In some situations when using an unlocked Sprint iPhone 5 outside the United States with a non-Sprint SIM card, you may be unable to send SMS.

Resolution

If you are traveling internationally with an unlocked iPhone, you may be unable to send SMS if you either:

Perform an Erase all Content and Settings or

Restore your iPhone

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Connect your iPhone to a Wi-Fi network.

Remove the non-Sprint SIM card from the device and insert the Sprint SIM card that came with your iPhone*.

Wait until "iPhone is activated" is displayed on the screen.

Reinsert the non-Sprint SIM card.

You should now be able to send SMS. If you still cannot send SMS after performing the above steps, contact Apple for additional support.

Is any one tried it?

Till now my problem not fix yet, I contact apple and they advice me to contact Sprint in US. I contact Sprint but they dont help people who are not their user.

Such a huge problem and happen anywhere, but no one from Apple care and try to help us here, in this Apple Support Communities which is part of their official website.

Unbelieveable they keep let everyone post 'help link' which is need money to do. Do they work together to make some more money?

Apple? They DONT CARE!
