Exactly this is the trick. Unpair with other devices first and then pair with iPad. Then it works.

i did what you said to do about resetting it and and my jam is trying to connect to my Iphone but my phone just says searching, any ideas what to do. it work once and now it don't

Yours may be defective, use your warranty and get it serviced.

I had the same problem as well. The instructions are useless, but I did the same thing as you Wendy, and it works.

Sometimes it takes a few tries. Nice speaker, but not user friendly.

Maybe it's just defective. I would return it, and try the new one in the store to be sure it works. It is frustrating, but when it works the sound is really good for a tiny portable speaker.

Jehna's reply helped and stopped me from returning this product which is really decent, it is just the instructions are poor.

It's not making a tone on mine, and plus it's connected but it's just not playing any music at all I meant I checked YouTube , I've tried it all.

If the speaker makes no tone as the bluetooth light starts flashing, that means something is messed up. Maybe you can use it as a doorjam.
