freezer trick, does it really work?
i've read about people with disabled wifi putting their device in a freezer and voila! wifi can be toggled again.
It sounds crazy but I need my wifi now :(

And you now have probably tripped the moisture sensors and voided your warranty if you still had one.
Yeah I bet I have but this phone is no longer covered. Do you think it's a software bug or a hardware issue?
Hardware, there is a connection problem. When you freeze it the connection is made, as it warms the connection is lost. Do an out-of-warranty replacement for $199 at your nearest Apple store.
That's expensive! Think I'll rather get a new one instead. Lol but thanks anyway. :)
Your choice, if you are eligible for an update get an iPhone 5. If you are not eligible for an update a new iPhone 4s is going to cost you $499 at minimum.
put my iphone 4s in the freezer for 5 minutes in a sandwich bag
powered it down first
after restarting wifi came back on
I was shocked
it did take longer to boot up than normal

See the dates on their posts... they stopped "fighting" about 12 months ago. 😉
Hi there
2 days ago my home button on my iphone 4 started to stick again so I used alchool in the charger path I guess I must have used too much and it got to the screen that got dark grey like a patch of dark clouds.
I red freezing it for 30 mnts or so may help. So aware of possible condensation issue I put it in the freezer. After 30 mnts or so it got way better. I continue 4 5 times a day up to today and the dark cloudy patch has started to really get away.
To get back to the dark grey cloudy patch due to home button alcohol cleaning:
In effect leaving the phone 30 mnts or so at a time in the freezer works but:
-Put the phone in a zip bag, then put it in the freezer for 30mnts
-do it once, take it out, wait until the phone is dry
-use paper towel to remove condensed mist
-wait 2-3 hours and do it again repeateadly you'll start seeing
the patch of dark grey cloud definitely shrinking
Again, just for fun :-)
We had this issue from 5 to 6.
And now we have this issue from 6 to 7.
I really have no idea on why this is happening but i figured it should be one of these:
Option A: They really are dumb programmers and engeneers.
Option B: They do this on pourpose because it favors sales a LOT, and also other things.
50% or more of the iPhones in the wild are not under any guarantee - face it, you will have to change phone, especially if you' ll be offered a deal in exchange for the old phone.
If you have a new device you wo't be able to go back with the software version, that is want they want, even if you were diligent about jailbraking
Also they get a lot of perfectly working phones back, they just need to REALLY reset them and then sell them again.
They say it's the most easy solution, that's right most of the time.... can you figure out wich one it is?
Cheers.
My ipad mini kept crashing even after many restores. I put ipad in freezer with power off for approximately one hour. I took it out and powered it on immediately and it appeared to be stable now. I guess shocking the device caused contraction and expansion.
