Headaches and Dizziness with iPhone 5

After upgrading from the iPhone 4S to the iPhone 5 I noticed dizziness and headaches after using my phone. As I tried to pinpoint the issue I noticed my ears popping when talking on the phone.

After feeling like a lunitic for the first week, I think I have finally found the cause of the issue - the new iPhone 5 has Active Noise Cancelling, which causes those exact symptoms in a small number of people.

Is there anyway to turn off the Noise Cancelling? I'm generally in a loud area and the pressure felt on my ear caused by the noise cancelling is unpleasent - enough to the point where I'd rather go back to my iPhone 4S or stop talking on the phone all together.

If software won't do it, is there hardware I can rip out or disable that will stop the noise cancelling?

I have the same problem! I've been using the phone for 2 days. After every call feels like my ears are going to pop, then come to dizzines and headackes by the end of the day I'm MISARBLE!!! I do not want to take more calls! Just went to apple and they gave me a new phone , my first call on the new one already made me sick. Will cover the mic on the back and give it a try, if not will go back to the 4s!

Sold my iPhone 5 on ebay. Never found a fix. Tried covering the hole. Software patch never came. Got the Samsung Galaxy S3. Fairly superior phone in most ways, but crashes from time to time. Miss my iPhone, as I was a fan since the first model and love the iTunes integration which I now miss greatly. At least I don't get headaches any more. Unsubscribing from discussion group as I no longer have an iPhone. Goodluck all

So I tried two things. I cut a small piece of tape and put it on that little hole in the back where the camera is and the flash. It does work. You wont get that weird feeling. But, if you decide to record a video, that is also the mic. So if you put tape on it, you can’t record a video. I also did try this and it has seemed to work for the past week. It was in a post in this thread. Go to… Settings – General – Accessibility – Hearing Aids – Now turn on hearing Aid Mode. It will make it louder, so you may need to turn the volume down all the way, but when I’m in a car or in a loud place, I will not notice the weird feeling. Give it a try.

Plain and simple the new OS is giving me motion sickness. The issue is so bad that I fully intend on switching to Android if Apple does not provide options to disable the constant zooming effects. The issue is not just the zoom itself, it is that everything is zooming from different directions. For people that get motion sickness this effect is nauseating to the point that I'm only using my phone for work necessity at this point. I am shocked that no employees on the development team or qa team were able to identify this issue before the initial release. I did notice that this story was picked up on CNN this morning, which is great news!
