iPhone 5 headphone volume too low

Music was one of the selling points for me bt its very very low ..i m very disappointed ..will never buy an iPhone if this doesn't get fixed

I've managed to increase the volume limits from 85% to 125%. I think that now I have better results and the volume levels are similar to my previous iPhone 4.

Yes i do have similar problem too. I couldnt agree more when i noticed that i cant hear my friend's voice when we do a call. Firstly i thought it was only me n my device having an issue like this. With the budget i spend to this device i bought in indonesia, ofcourse it's a big disappointing. Please apple,respond to this issue

I think I knew the problem and can solve it...follow these steps...

Settings->Music->Volume limit-> do it the max so you will se that volume limits is of

Omg really? The amount of people in this thread that said THAT was the first thing they tried and it's not that!!

I will try the volume increase in iTunes though but won't it distort the music?

Just try it in one song and listen to the difference. At 100% the distortion is obvious but I think that at 50% it's just perfect.

In my settings I have the 'EU Volume Limit' switched off and the Max volume slider at 100%

When listening to music with my SoundMagic headphones plugged in the volume slider goes up to yellow, pauses briefly then carries on in to the red and sounds just fine.

However when I watch YouTube the volume will only go as far as the first yellow marker, refuses to go higher and is way, way too quiet.

Why, Apple? Why??

I don't understand why this is checked as a problem solved! I don't want to use Apple headphones. I want to use my high quality ones.

same here iphone 5 32 gb with about 20% lower music volume in earpods rather than the iphone 4 and 4s and my ipad 4

any suggestions rather than jailbreak(and changing the regional volume limits)?????

and apple support: u have to "respond" even in negative to our issues !

I dont know if i have posted on this thread before but here is my deal...

Got a brand new iphone 5, restored from the backup of my 4, low volume.

Set it up as new, increased volume limit to max, no EU volume limit settings there, still low volume.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: i experience different maximum volumes in different apps!!!! Either the chip is badly designed, which i dont believe could be the case with a company that makes ipods, so... Or, ios 6 is not handling volume correctly on the iphone 5.

I have been having low volume problems listening to music with the iPhone 5. The earphones I've been using are from my old iPhone 3GS or an iPod. I just assumed it shouldn't be a problem. Apple as apple right?

Now I went back to the Apple iPhone 5 EarPods and the problem is no longer there. When I switch back and forth there is a big difference in output. WIth the old earphones I use full volume but feel I am missing 25%. With the iPhone 5 EarPods I have to adjust the volume down a bit or it's too loud.
