10.8.2 - Trackpad freezing - kernel[0]: AppleUSBMultitouchDriver::_deviceGetReport - DeviceRequest for reportID 0x0 returned with result 0xe000404f - retrying

I recently upgraded to 10.8.2 and now find that my trackpad seems to freeze up on occasion. I started noticing the following message in the system log:

kernel[0]: AppleUSBMultitouchDriver::_deviceGetReport - DeviceRequest for reportID 0x0 returned with result 0xe000404f - retrying

This message occurs 4 seconds, so you can imagine the log fills up quickly. If I touch the trackpad there is a lag in response and when it actually responds the messages stop flooding the log. This scenario occurs when I am 'docked' at work and using my magic mouse as my main pointing device.

I am running a 15inch MBP, early 2011, 8 gig of RAM. Upgraded from Lion to Mountain Lion.

Anyone know why this issue is occuring?

Thanks

MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

I have seen this resolution in other posts but I do not even have com.telldus.service.plist to begin with so I doubt this solves the issue.

What I have found is that this issue generally occurs after my MBP has awoken from sleep. I.e. I put my MBP in my bag to go to work and at work I will see this message shortly after the machine has awoken. Same issue when I grab the machine and go home.

I spent some time at a Genius Bar yesterday. The tech told me that I was the fourth person she'd seen over the past few days with the same problem. She told me to sit tight because its a software problem and that Apple would be issuing a fix soon.

I'm also having this issue and have to plug in usb mouse and keyboard to get my $3000+ system.

I have to say Mountain Lion is starting to make me think I'd be better off moving to Windows. I've never seen Apple put out such junk in a while. APPLE We want a stable OS, not one that brings iPhone functionality to our computer. they are two different things, stop trying to make them the same!!!

Very frustrated and disapointed

I have been experiencing this problem and do NOT think it is a hardware problem. I can reboot the machine (without moving or disturbing the hardware) and the keyboard will work AFTER reboot. Then after some time the colsole will show these messages:

9/17/13 10:32:06.000 AM kernel[0]: AppleUSBMultitouchDriver::message - kIOUSBMessagePortHasBeenReset.

9/17/13 10:32:06.000 AM kernel[0]: AppleUSBMultitouchDriver::_deviceSetReport - DeviceRequest for reportID 0xac returned with result 0xe000404f - retrying

and the trackpad and keyboard will not respond until a reboot.

I recently installed Google Chrome.

What is the procedure to remove the Android Drivr mentioned in the previous post?
